I've been using this product for years and it's the only exfolient I will buy. It's not tested on animals which is a pretty big thing in my books. A lot of the ingredients are natural which is also very important to me and it smells great! It's ultra gritty which is very important to me when it comes to exfoliating. I hate those products that only have a few beads in them. USELESS!
Pros:
Not tested on animals
Mainly natural ingredients
Very inexpensive
Leaves skin silky smooth and refreshed
Smells great
Cons:
If left around for to long it begins to smell fowl (which is expected since they are natural ingredients)
I LOVE this product! It is my absolute favorite exfoliator! I know a lot of people complain about it being too rough and gritty, but that is why I love it. I can't stand to get an exfoliator and it have like 4 little grains in it. I use it about 3-4 times a week and have never had a problem with it drying out my skin. And who can't love the price???
Okay I have a dirty little secret....I love APRICOT SCRUB!!! It is my tried and true all-over exfoliating miracle.
I started using Apricot Scrub around 2006 and I immediately noticed that my skin was smoother, more even in texture and the appearance of my complexion improved. I used it for several months before a girlfriend dissuaded me, saying, "It's horrible for your skin." Around this same time, I started visiting a new aesthetician who also encouraged me to stop using it (and start using some pricey $60 retinol cream that eventually made my skin peel....literally eh). I fell off for a while because I was paying an arm and a leg for monthly microdermbrasion treatments. I bought the MAC Microfine Refinisher as a replacement, but it didn't give the same results, and the cost is at least 8x more than the Swiss Ives formula.
A few months ago while I was in Target (my version of paradise that I can visit every day of the week) I picked up a new tube and felt the sting of Cupid's Arrow ...I was in love all over again.
The lesson I learned is- don't ask for advice if I don't need it. In this case, I should have listened to the results moresoe than the opinion of others!
I love this scrub, but I do agree that it can make your skin a bit dry. My solution to that was to just use it every other day.
The smell is delicious, even my brother fell in love with this product! It actually made his acne improve which is great for such a cheap price.
I'll have to try using it on my elbows like maya88 mentioned, I don't know why I never thought about that!
I used to love this product, but I live in a dry climate and the salicylic acid, tends to dry my skin. If I lived in a moist one, I would use this daily. It's effective and very affordable.
great product! inexpensive, effective and uninvasive. perfect for users with sensitive skin, and for those who want a super product without paying insane amounts of money . I trust this brand and haven't been let down with any of their products yet . Simple pays off !
I discovered St. Ives Apricot Scrub shortly after my best friend and I moved in together. I use an exfoliator daily to keep my skin smooth and healthy but I ran out of mine and used hers (St Ives Apricot Scrub). I immediatly fell in love. My usual scrub left my skin smooth but i never experienced a sudden smoothness in my skin. Just one use and I was hooked, after continuous use I dont even breakout when im on my period anymore and my skin just glows. I love having clean healthy skin and i would recomend this product to anyone and the best part about it, its inexpensive. :)
Good old Apricot Scrub. It exfoliates without being too rough on your skin, and the smell is nice and fresh, not too sweet. I like the original exfoliating scrub in the pot which I keep in the shower, but it's nice to have it in the tube to use on your face with less mess. The price is good, and it works well.
