I tried this at a friends house a while ago. I love the way it makes my skin feel but I wouldn't use it more than once a week. When I got home and told my mom about it she told me that apricot scrubs can actually scratch your face and when you exfoliate it always better to use something with round beads in it. To be honest, that really put me off. I won't be using this again.
If you have blackheads in certain areas of your face, this is a good product to use. I concentrated it in my T-zone and found that it helped reduce blackheads between my facials. Some salon's claim it may be a little harsh for your skin, but I found it fit well with my combo skin!
After learning about the importance of exfoliating the face and reading several good reviews about this product, I went out and purchased it from Shoppers. This was years ago, and since then, the scrub hasn't let me down. The texture isn't too rough for my skin (it's important to use your hands and massage it gently over your face) and I've yet to get tired of the apricot scent. I've tried the Biore exfoliator, and prefer this one by far. In conclusion, great product! It helped in making my face softer and got rid of blemishes.
I had high hopes for this product only to be disappointed. I did not notice any change in my skin. The lotion actually kind of hurt my face. I found the little particles in the lotion to be too rough. I always felt like I needed to wash my face after using it. It might be good for the back or chest area but not for the face.
I just read many of the rave reviews about St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I too used it a few times in previous years however, I was told by dermatologists that it is not good for your skin. It claims to deep clean your skin using ground up apricot pits and such, and the fact is, those scrubbers are damaging your skin because when you scrub your face with these "edgy" and "rough" pieces/scrubbers, it will microscopically tear your first layer of skin. Instead, they said to use scrubbers that are smooth - like the ones you see in Biore or Nivea that are smooth (man-made) beads or better yet, to exfoliate skin, they say you should use salicylic acid to exfoliate instead.
I personally have been using this since i was in grade 9 up until this year which is my first year of college and not once have i ever experienced a breakout or any acne at all, which is an amazement to me.
this product not only smells great but you can really feel the microbeads working away at your skin removing all the dead skin debris ~!
it's at such an affordable price too and.... it even comes in a mini travel size !
so there is no reason as to why everyone is not owning this product !
I highly recommend it :)
I was hesitant about this product at first; I expected it to be cheap and a waste of money, but boy! was I wrong. I love this stuff! If you love exfoliating your skin, this is the face wash to get. It's all-natural and the super-grainy scrub feels great. My skin feels "polished" and ultra-smooth after using this. My skin is prone to break-outs and can be oily, and this really cleared my skin up. It reduced my pore size and gave my skin an over-all smoother appearance.
You can find this scrub at most grocery stores and drugstores; I believe it runs about $7, but I've found it for only $4 at Walmart!
I absolutely recommend this product.
Definitely my favorite. This stuff does a great job exfoliating while also conditioning the skin. I have had great results and always recommend it to my friends and family. I have noticed dramatic improvements in my skin tone and texture.
