100% OF CHICKS DIG IT
Ideal for a Book Club
"Sometimes even destiny needs a little bit of help." With that thought in mind, you will delve into the life of Justine Carmichael, a writer-journalist who takes fate into her hands when she alters the astrological readings for the zodiac sign Aquarius in the magazine that she writes for. Her actions backfire when Nick Jordan, struggling Shakespearean actor, interprets his horoscopes literally and pursues different decisions than the ones she is coaxing him toward. Her actions also impact the lives of others reading the magazine, creating a series of smaller side plots. The story is sweet and I can see the book doing well with book clubs because there are a number of discussion topics, including horoscopes and astrology, pursuing one's passion (over what others may expect or demand of us), and whether there is only one true love for every person (and if so, is it proper to intervene if an opportunity presents itself). I found the story to be a bit predictable, but I did enjoy it.
