No 'holiday' flavour, just the packaging
I've bought this blend several years in a row just to try to see how it compares to the original Starbucks, blend, and to be honest, I haven't noticed much of a difference between the original blend and this one, aside from the packaging. I've read online that it has maple notes to it, but I didn't detect these. Has anyone actually noticed a significant difference? I mean, it's not 'bad' coffee, but there's nothing that speaks 'holiday' about it, aside from the packaging.
Great coffee blend!
I had a gift certificate from Starbucks and I decided to try the Christmas blend. I usually am not a big fan of Starbucks coffee because I find it very strong and it irritates my stomach, especially since I have it black. The barista at the counter recommended this blend and he was right, strong and bold in taste but just enough. Soothing on the stomach also. I find it alittle pricey but a 20$ baf of beans, lasted me 3 weeks, not so bad. A good investetment when you want to splurge on coffee.
OMG I am so disapointed in my coffee that I was so exited for. I usually love a rich, cocoa, nutty, smooth dark bean, however, this blend is way too flat. I dont' think there is absolutely any acidity in these beans at all. I am not a huge fan of a lot of acidity, especially when I want to drink my coffee with cream, but you need some in my opinion so that it doesn't taste stale and flat after or on your first cup.
I am a huge fan of Starbucks, always will be, but this was too dull for me. Yes, "dull" would be one word to describe it.
I am not a person to over due it either by making my coffee too strong, which an lead to flatness and dullness, I use the called for amount of coffee per water that is on the bag.
Im sorry Starbucks, this coffee was a miss for me for your Christmas Blend 2016, hopefully it will be better blend next year.
