I thought the applicator would make this a nice product to throw in your bag but I find the clicky twist up to be a bit finicky. I could never get it right in that I didn't click it enough or I clicked it too much. The texture of the gloss was okay I find it pretty sticky but the color was decently pigmented. For the price I wasn't really impressed, I was pretty disappointed that the applicator was so finicky.

I bought the Stila Lip Glaze in Peach at my local winners since I've been wanting to try them for some time now. The peach shade is gorgeous cause its sheer in colour (subtle coral) and no sparkles (which I prefer for day time/general wear). Some comment it is really sticky but I only found the initial application to be, but after it went on it didn't feel like it was. My only vice against the product is the packaging. Hate the turning dial and the fact the product does take a little bit to come out sometimes.

It was sticky! Oh boy, was I disappointed! I had read for years of the wonderfulness of this gloss, and the shades were also so pretty. When I purchased the Grapefruit type, I was so disappointed. The color was pretty, and the applicator and tube wee nice, but I had a terrible time trying to get used to the stickiness of the gloss.

Stila is the gold standard of lipgloss! Yes, they are pricey, but boy do you get what you pay for. Equal parts rich color, loads of moisture and just enough shine, these little "tubes of happy" are the perfect addition to any girls' make-up bag. They were the first beauty company I know of that utilized the "twist/click" technology to help manage the amount of color that comes out. The gloss wears well throughout the day and the shine....oh the shine, it's unparalleled.

They are having KILLER deals on their website right now. I just snagged the 2010 Holiday Lip Glaze set for $25 ($30 with shipping) which includes 8 tubes of gloss ( including Grapefruit and Apricot, my personal favorites)! So while they cost a lot if you walk into a Sephora and buy one of the shelf ($24/each), you CAN find a good deal to get more value for your dollars. Stocking up during the holidays when they have major discounts, can help spread the cost out over the year.

I like Stila as the brand and I can admit that part of my motivation in buying some of their lipglosses was the mention of them in the Shopaholic series (I believe it was Shopaholic and Sister...). That should probably embarass me but it actually means that I have a special place for Stila in my heart. However, there are two things about this particular product that I am not so fond of: the clickable pen aspect and it is sticky.

The clickable pen means that you have to turn it and wait for product to be pushed up. And you don't want to get impatient and turn it twenty times because then you have tons of product gooing up the brush. The stickiness I can deal with simply because most lipglosses are a little sticky but... If you're using it right before a date or something, it could be awkward. The colours are nice, softly scented, overall, I do like it - it simply depends on where your lipgloss priorities are.

Starfruit is my MLBB lipgloss when I'm feeling more pink than beige (that would be where MAC Rubia comes in).

Colour: Stila describes the colour as a "shimmering coral" whereas I'd say it's a warm pink with gold pearls. On my lips, it's a healthy pink - what I imagine my lips would flush if I were ever to actually exercise one day... It's perfect for those natural or neutral face days. I also find it works pretty well paired with a slightly smoky eye. My fav look is with a bronze/gold smokey eye, a bit of bronzer and this gloss.

Smell: It's sugary and juicy - probably like a starfruit (although it's been about ten years since I ate a starfruit so I can't be sure).

Texture: One big drawback about lipglazes is their stickiness factor. It's really sticky... Like, MAC Lipglass sticky. One quick turn of your head and you'll be eating gloss coloured hair. The good new is that it tastes a lot like starfruit! ;-)

Packaging: The packaging is a good and bad thing. It's a good thing because when you twist the bottom, the gloss oozes into the lipbrush at the top. No more fumbling around your purse looking for the lip brush! It's already attached. The packaging's a bad thing too because you'll find that the first, second and probably the third click doesn't do too much to dispense the gloss. Maybe the fourth click will do it. Keep trying; it's a-coming! A few people have said that they do this so vigorously (frustration probably?) that they end up with too much gloss. I find I like clicking it slowly and watching the gloss slowly ooze out. It's probably gross to some people but I have a sick fascination watching it...

Price: Soooo friggin' expensive at $28 CAD I believe. Available at Sephora. And in Vancouver, at BeautyMark in Yaletown and Kiss & Makeup at Park Royal.
