Publisher's description:
Alice Howland, happily married with three grown children and a house on the Cape, is a celebrated Harvard professor at the height of her career when she notices a forgetfulness creeping into her life. I absolutely love this book. It is about a woman in her 50's being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's and her journey to acceptance and the struggles with all the symptoms. There are many books and movies about people dealing with someone who has Alzheimer's but this book is in the perspective of the patient. You see her confusion and frustration as she starts to forget about everything that happens in her life, and eventually her children. You also see her pain and humiliation as she starts to lose control of her bodily functions. This book brought me to tears and it helped me to understand Alzheimer's better. I recommend everyone to read this book because we probably know someone or will know someone with Alzheimer's.
