had this at a tasting last week. It's true that it is about half the sweetness of regular ice wine. It's very nice and still sweet but not nearly as sweet which is perfect because I typically stay away from icewine because it is so sweet.
Hurray this is at the LCBO! Strewn is a smaller Ontario winery that makes some yummy wines. One of the categories of wine it makes is 'Late Harvest', which I'd describe as half way between a wine and an ice wine. If most wines are 0-2 on the sugar scale and icewines are 19-22, this would be about a 13-15. Its a sweet wine which can be used post meal, or pre-meai. Its a delicious alternative for people who find icewine too sweet, or are turned off by the prices of ice wine. This Strewn Late Harvest is $16 for 375ml.
