Highly recommended for pregnancy. I would use again and agai
I am just about to have my third child. The Belly Jelly was referred to me by my sister who also used this product throughout her pregnancy. I can honestly say that I don't have one single stretch mark. I used this twice a day, rubbed all over my belly and thighs. Love the scent! I used about 3 cans for the entire pregnancy. I spent $60 total. That is incredible considering I am walking away stretch mark free!
I really wanted to like this. Unfortunately I was super sensitive to scents while pregnant and this was reeked of lavender. I also was not a huge fan of how greasy it was and it never seemed to absorb well. It was really expensive - I'm glad I only ordered the trial size since I was unable to use it.
There are a lot of creams/lotions out in the market that claim to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. But I was looking for something that contained all natural ingredients. Afterall, I'll be applying the cream daily, in the area closest to my unborn baby; I need a product that feel safe to use. Matter Company created the Substance line of products that are made with all natural ingredients and scented with essential oils. They have fully disclosed the list of ingredients for their products on their website.
I really love the Substance Belly Jelly. I use it religiously every morning after my shower. It keeps my belly moisturized all day long. Unfortunately for me, my stretch marks from my first pregnancy reappeared during my second pregnancy; so I cannot comment on whether the Belly Jelly can prevent the appearance of stretch marks but my stretch marks are not getting worse and they are barely noticeable. I truly believe it works well in minimizing my stretch marks.
The Belly Jelly is an emollient balm, meaning that it's very rich. I usually use my finger to scoop a dime size balm, warm it up between my palms before spreading onto my belly and thighs. Because it is so rich, it's great to use in the winter or immediately after a shower to lock in the moisture. This isn't something I'd recommend at night because dried skin doesn't absorb the oils as quick and it can leave your belly feeling sticky. (I have another cream for night time application.)
While the Belly Jelly is scented with natural essential oils, I find the smell can be overpowering. It took awhile to get used to it but I like it now and I don't mind it. However, if you are sensitive to scented products, I'd recommend you try a sample first before purchasing the full size tub of cream.
