Simple, wireless charger a stand-out.

Overall, I like this lamp. Though I’m not as big a fan of the design as some of the other Taotronics lamps, the wireless charger is an important feature that won me over. I like that they have a lot of designs too, so you can definitely pick one to your taste.

This has a lot more of an ‘office’ look, so while you can still use it as a bedside lamp (and I am since I love that wireless charger) it definitely looks more suited to a desk. It has a silver and white chunky look and while it’s not as flexible as the gooseneck, it can still shine light in most directions. The fact that it can be closed to free up precious space, is a nice feature that’s very important in compact spaces.

For me, the biggest dislike is the round base. I’d prefer it to be oval or at least have a flat edge, I find the round shape makes it hard to place, but it’s possible that having the charger basically requires such a base. The base is, at least, nice and heavy and there’s no issues with knocking this lamp over when adjusting.

My favourite feature was the wireless charger. It’s a game changer to be able to just put my phone on the non-slip pad and have it charge. When notifications come in I can easily pick it up without unplugging. It’s a very fast charge, but keep in mind, wireless charging is much slower than cable charger, so don’t expect miracles. IIt also has an HDMI port in the back, for those who prefer a conventional charger or want an extra charging option.

I find that the buttons for changing the brightness accidentally get tapped a lot when putting my phone there though and I don’t love that you have to hold the button to turn it off. There is a big range of brightness and colours, which again, make it an ideal desk lamp.

I still think it’s a great lamp, with the wireless charge function being a standout, but there are a few things that are not to my taste. If you like the look of the lamp, it’s a no-brainer, but if not there are plenty of other nice lamps with great features from this company, so you’ll find something you like.
