I wanted to love it!
I really did want to love it! I won a little prize pack that included some items from Tarte, which is a company that I adore, and the Lip Facial was one of them.
It comes in a crayon type pencil which right of the bat struck me as an odd choice for a product like this. It’s the exact same thing as elf’s lip scrub that they offer in a lipstick tube ( again, weird choice of container - when I think lip scrub I think a pot or a tube). It’s coconut oil and sugar so it starts to form a weird melted top.
The packaging feels cheap, as does a lot of tarte’s new skin care line. It’s like something you would buy at the dollar store...certainly not something you would expect to pay over $21 for. Top that off with the fact that it doesn’t even really work...no thanks. I still love their makeup, though!
A bit pricey but the perfect lip exfolator
I didn't want to love this so much because it is a bit pricey but honestly this is great. The minty scent is fresh and lovely. It exfoliates the lips well and then leaves them really soft and smooth. It's great because I love matte lipsticks so this helps keep them in top shape even with drying lipsticks. I will re-buy even at 20$ Canadian price tag. Also the packaging is gorgeous and I'm such a sucker for that!
It's okay
It did what it should okay but the poor packaging and waste is undeniable. After one use the product literally became a mess and I had to find alternative packaging until I had finished using the rest of it. Wouldn't repurchase.
Would not repurchase
I do not find this to be a great exfoliator. Using it in the stick seems like a great idea, except that it wears down quickly and you have to use your fingers to work it over your lips anyway. The exfoliant is very fine so I find it does not do as great of a job as other lip scrubs. It tastes fine and the packaging is cute, but I think there are better ones out there.
