I had the pleasure of trying tarteist matte lip paint in "birthday suit" as part of my VIB birthday gift from Sephora. I wasn't too keen on the shade at first as it was so close to my natural lip colour but I love it on! I adore that it goes on like a gloss but dries with a metre finish and so far it has lasted through an iced cap!
i got this for my birhtday at sephora and although i have the mini sample size i am in love with this liquid lippie! it dries perfectly matte and doesnt feel tacky on the lips. i will be purchasing full sized liquid lippies because of this
I got my Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paint in the shade Birthday Suit as a birthday gift from Sephora (which can be found at pretty much all malls). I was looking to buy a lip stick from Tarte for a while but they are prized at $26 here in Ontario (not sure if its the same everywhere else) and I wasn't sure if they were worth it so I didn't want to risk spending that much money. This year Sephora is offering this lip paint with blush so I was excited to finally be able to try it out! This product is vegan, so it can be used by vegans as well. I really like this colour because its not too dark or too light. I found it to be a perfect nude shade for my skin tone. For those that do find it to be a little light on their skin, you can shade it with a darker lip liner (I tried it), which enhances the shape of your lips as well. This lip paint becomes matte once dried, but it doesn't make your lips look dry, which I also loved. It made my lips appear creamy and matte at the same time! I highly recommend the Tarte creamy matte lip paint in the shade Birthday Suit for those who are looking for a nice nude colour that they can wear basically everywhere! I will definitely be buying this again! It is definitely worth the $26.
I received the Tarte Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit as my birthday gift from Sephora and immediately fell in love!
What an amazing neutral/nude colour. I have fair skin and this shade is a lovely mid-tone brown skewing pink. Calling it creamy is spot on, it feels nice and light on the lips but retains a softer creamy feel than most matte products do (I find once they dry my lips feel tight and look too dried out.) This product seems to have found the perfect formula, achieving a great matte look without that dryness occurring.
It has about average longevity for a matte product but not quite as long as a really dry matte lipstick; I think that might be the tradeoff for not feeling so dry. So yes, it does tend to wear off quicker than other mattes I've used. A decent lip primer will help with that a bit.
I definitely recommend this product and colour for most skin tones (probably light to somewhat olive toned). You may not like it as much if your skin is fairly dark as it likely won't give you any real enhancement to your normal lip colour. If like me you aren't a fan of the super dry matte products but DO like the matte look, give this one a try. I'll be purchasing the full size tube as soon as my gift tube runs out!
