It’s a beautiful, sunny day and as usual Terry is sitting up in his tree fort, enjoying the view. From his perch he spots some Cuckoo birds and cannot believe that it could already be spring. He looks around spotting other signs and realizes it is indeed spring.
Then he spots a little baby bear exploring the world for the first time, who he names Barry. He really wants to hop down and play with Barry, but just then the baby bears mother shows up and calls him back into the woods. She doesn’t look like fun to play with, so he stays in his tree, sad that they left. Very soon after, he hears the mother bear crying for help – Barry is in danger. Can Terry get him out of the hole? Will Barry and Terry be able to play together? Read the book to find out!
This fifth book in the best selling Terry Treetop series is one of my favourites so far (and I’ve read/reviewed the other four). I love how much we learn about spring, bears and their habitats. I also like that he keeps his distance from the bears, since we don’t want to send the message to young children it’s cool or okay to play with dangerous wild animals. The pictures, as always, are meaningful to the written passage and very bright/colourful. This book is suggested for children 2-8 years of age.
I received this free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I would not purchase again since its an ebook I will always own.
