I received this product to review and am so glad I did. It really seemed to smooth & soften my skin. I can tell a difference in the softness of my skin after less than 2 weeks of using the product. The price is a little steep, but for the small amount needed for use each time I think it's worth it. One pump of the product covers my entire face. It feels soft going on my skin and sinks in nicely without feeling greasy at all. It did make my skin feel a little tight when I first put it on, so I knew I needed to apply my regular moisturizer afterwards to allow for the extra moisturization I need on a day to day basis. This is okay with me though, as I tend to use two products as it is. I love the fact that this is organic and the natural products really seem to work well with my skin. At first, the scent was a little off-putting but I got used to it and it kind of grew on me. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who wants smoother skin with little effort. A pump a day adds softness to your skin and helps prevent the nasty free radicals from causing further damage.
I received this product to review a week and a half ago and have been using it consistently in the mornings and at night.
Here are the things that I do like about the product:
-it comes in a sanitary pump bottle.
-one pump of product is enough to cover my entire face.
-the product has a smooth consistency.
-it's natural and organic.
-it leaves my skin feeling quite soft and smooth after application.
Here are the things that prevented me from giving this product a 5 stars rating overall:
-it has a strange scent that is quite strong upon application and takes a while to decipitate.
-it doesn't moisturize that well. still need to put a layer of my regular moisturizer on top for the dry spots.
-it doesn't smooth anything out like the name suggests. my lines and pores are still visible.
-due to the oils in the product, it can leave a greasy shine as the day goes on.
Overall, I don' t think that this is a bad product at all. I don't mind the scent, but I can see someone who has a strong sensitivity to fragrances having issues with it. I do think that as serums go, it is a pretty good quality product and the price point is competitive with other niche brands' serums. I don't think though that it is an essential product to have if someone is already using a moisturizer that works for her.
On the box, it says that the product "softens, revitalizes and improves skin suppleness". Definitely, after immediate application, my skin does feel soft, but I haven't noticed any change in my skin's suppleness in the 1.5 weeks that I have been using it. Perhaps, I need to continue to use it longer in order to see any changes.
I will continue to use this until it is finished and come back to edit this review if I do notice some changes.
Thanks to ChickAdvisor for sending me this product to review.
The serum comes in a well-designed bottle with a pump that makes it easy to dispense. The consistency is a bit thin, but this means that a little goes a long way. It felt lightweight on my skin, & absorbed very well & quickly. I immediately felt a difference in the softness & smoothness of my face, but I didn't find that it yielded dramatic results over time.
It has an unusual fragrance that's hard to describe - a little nutty, a little floral. It's not a scent that I greatly liked or disliked. The serum does include a number of essential oils, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with sensitivities or allergies.
I like very much that many of the ingredients are organic, & that some are from fair trade sources (Brazilian babassu oil, Guatamelan aloe vera.) However the list of everything that's included contains about 40 different items. I use a lot of holistic brands, & most of them are made from a few simple quality ingredients. I like to know exactly what I'm putting on my skin, & this product is so complex I'm not sure what I'm getting. I enjoyed using the serum, but there are other fair trade & organic options that I like better.
I was so excited to receive this product for review! I used the product religiously for a week and a half and noticed an amazing improvement in the smoothness and softness of my face. The product is definitely worth the cost. I loved the scent of it, and the fact that it is organic is a major plus for me!
I was thrilled to be able to review The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum. The serum smells fresh and clean and is extremely light weight. It goes on smooth and made my skin feel silky smooth after only a couple days of use. I enjoyed the product but found that after a few more days, my combination skin became oily in the T-zone area. I then passed it on to my mother-in-law who has dry skin. She loves it and has had no problems whatsoever. My final verdict: A great product but probably not for those with oily or combination skin.
I received The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum as part of the PRC and I was excited to give it a try. The product is packaged nicely with a pump that dispenses just the right amount of product for each application. I was a little confused with what this product was actually supposed to do because the information on the box and on the bottle was limited. There was a focus on how natural the product was rather than what results I should expect from using it and how long those results might take. From what I recall of the email that ChickAdvisor sent out about introducing the product, it is supposed to help diminish fine lines and smooth the skin. It would have been nice if this kind of information was included with the product itself, even as an insert in the box. The only information about what the product is supposed to do was "FIRST SIGNS OF AGEING" and "Softens, revitalises and improves suppleness" written on the bottle and box.
I found that this product had a strong scent. I have sensitive/oily skin and I tend to avoid anything with any fragrance whatsoever so I found this a little harsh. The serum itself goes on nicely and absorbs fairly quickly into the skin. I was concerned that using the serum under my moisturizer would only add more oil to my already oily skin, but it didn't seem to make much difference either way.
My skin did feel softer after using this product for a few days, and I loved that, but I didn't see any noticeable difference in the fine lines on my face. If it is supposed to be an anti-aging serum (something The Body Shop seems reluctant to print on the product packaging), then it fails miserably in this regard. I also noticed that the product clogged my pores after only a handful of uses. It didn't cause any breakouts, but it did cause a few blackheads (something I don't typically have any trouble with).
I'd have to say that I wouldn't recommend this particular product. It clogged my pores and lacks an adequate description of what the intended results are.
I don't get this product at all. It didn't do me any harm, but it didn't do any good either. I didn't feel like my skin was any smoother for having used it, but then again my skin is pretty smooth to start with. It smelled nice and didn't clog my pores so I'm not mad at it but I didn't notice any difference in my skin's appearance at all.
Not for me.
I was very excited to receive the Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Serum in the mail. I am a very big fan of the Body Shop's body products, but had never tried any of their facial products until now. Having sensitive skin, I appreciated the naturalness of the product. I loved the way it smelled! Each pump gives a generous amount of product (I accidentally pumped three times out of habit from my usual serum). While this product went on a bit sticky for my liking, once I applied my moisturizer on top (I live in a very dry climate) I found my skin very soft and supple. I think that two weeks is a short amount of time to see any longer term and significant changes in my skin, but I definitely notices an improvement in the feel of my skin. Even my husband noticed! On that note alone I would recommend this product.
Thanks to the Product Review Club for the Nutriganics Smoothing Serum from the Body Shop. When I first got the product I was a little confused on exactly how I was to use it. The packaging didn’t explain what to do or the results I should see (and when). It was more focused on it being all-natural, which is fine but I’d like to know the purpose behind it. If I were shopping in the store I would probably bypass the product simply because of the lack of information.
The product has a very runny texture and you need only a small amount. My skin absorbed it rather quickly, although it left me with the feeling of something sticky on my face. If you don’t put on moisturizer afterwards your skin will be super shinny and dry. I didn’t notice any major changes to my skin – tightness or moisture level. Overall, not a product that I see myself buying or recommending to friends.
I was very excited to be chosen to review this product (Thanks very much ChickAdvisor).
Received the product by UPS very promptly. Have been using the serum both morning and bedtime under usual moisturizers as directed for almost 2 weeks.
It has a very pleasant smell - hint of orange and very subtle licorice (from the fennel). Really enjoyed this as I find many products are too heavy on the fragrance.
My skin is sometimes a bit sensitive, and was happy that there was no reaction or breakout caused by the serum.
It goes on very lightly, although gets a bit sticky as it dries. Stickiness does dissappear.
Have to say though I am disappointed, have seen no change what so ever to skin texture or fine lines, let alone to deeper lines. Claims to reduce signs of aging, but haven't seen any improvement.
Will continue to use regularly and provide an update if I do start to see results.
One other comment on packaging - all the printing is so tiny, both on the box and the bottle. Considering the product is aiming for an older (aging) audience, The Body Shop should print an info sheet that does not require a magnifying glass to read.
So although I love The Body Shop, I wouldn't recommend this product.
