95% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I have been using this for about 6 months now. I am a student, in a cramped apartment, so every bit of savings and space counts. But I find I am alternating between the cup and tampons throughout a cycle, but I am using the cup more. As everyone has said, there is a steep learning curve, and it won't work for every person. I would recommend that you have patience and be willing to switch back between the cup and your previous method, as you and your body gets used to using it.
It's a little bit hard to put at the beginning, but it's really more comfortable and it last very long. It's "green" and it's really economical after a few months. I am a student so I don't have much money so I'm really happy I've bought this before I move in with my boyfriend in our apartment because it cost me nothing in personal feminine hygiene!
This is the best invention ever. Not only is it money saving but it is easy to use and is comfortable. You almost do not feel it. The first time you use it is is weird but that is only for about 5 minutes after you do not feel it in you can almost forget it is there. So stop buying those retarded tampons every month save your self the trouble and pay 40$ a year. I highly recommend this to all you ladies.
I first thought people were nuts paying $39.99 (in my area) for this product. I heard fantastic things about it so bit the bullet and bought one. BEST decision ever. I love my diva and have told others about it .
The Diva Cup has radically transformed my monthly cycle! It has allowed me the freedom to be active and to travel during my cycle without being worried about leaks or running out of disposable product.
There is a bit of a learning curve with The Diva Cup, but after a couple days of patience and determination, I figured out the best technique that worked for me and my body. I have found it has put me more in touch with the changes my body goes through during its cycle, and the changes in flow from day to day. It is a stress free product that provides flexible, reliable protection. It can be worn for 12 hours and over night with no worries. I sometimes have to remind myself that I'm wearing it, it is THAT comfortable. I will never go back to disposable!
So I saw this and decided to buy it thinking it would save me money on pads/tampons...I'm back to pads. Let's just say taking this thing out was not pretty. I wouldn't ever wear this again. Its similar to a diaphragm which I've never used. So it was extremely awkward inserting and taking it out ( plus a bloody mess.. Gross!) Definitely not for me. It did work for leakage though... Just not my cup of tea.
It is a bit pricey but worth the $ as it saves buying tampons/pads every month so in the long run it ends up saving you $.
I wouldn't want to have to change it in a public bathroom but with that being said you don't need to change it as often as a pad or tampon so this is very beneficial! Only twice a day depending on how heavy your flow is (leave it in up to 12 hours). There is no risk of TSS (you can get with tampons) so leaving it longer than 12 hours is okay but try not to especially if your flow is heavy. If you're just spotting I wouldn't worry about it.
I had a little trouble getting it out the first couple times, but as soon as I got used to it, it was easy. You need to remember to relax (I was a bit nervous my first time)! Definitely better than tampons and pads! Great for the environment & your vagina! I was always worried about smell with tampons and pads but there is no worry with this! I feel a lot cleaner.
Make sure you read the instructions as I've heard several women complain they don't know how to get it in properly. I had no problem and no leaks. You have to be comfortable with yourself down there.
I am still learning how to use this as this is my first time using any product like this, but I cant believe how nice it is, its a little hard to get in the first couple of times but once you get the hang of it its easier and easier. it makes life a lot easier when your on your menstrual cycle. You can swim with it in run hike etc. everything you would normally do and no worries about leaking. you can keep it in for up to 12 hours per day. I love my diva cup and highly recommend it.
Like the last reviewer, I bought the DivaCup because I loved the idea of it. I loved the cost savings overall (I shudder to think how much I spend on panty liners, tampons and pads in a year), the environmentally friendly aspect of it, and just an alternative to pads and tampons. I just could not get the hang of it for the life of me. I had read a whole lot from other Diva users prior to purchase, so I thought I could do it, but I just kept getting leakage. I adjusted it and tried doing it differently, and leaked everytime. Perhaps it was because I have endometriosis and before my IUD and surgery, I had an incredibly heavy menstrual cycle. Maybe I was too much for the cup. Or maybe the Cup is not made for every shape? Or it could have just been me, but it seems it is not that user friendly if I am not the only one who struggled?
I got this half price at London Drugs and was so excited to not have to use tampons anymore. More environmentally friendly too! Unfortunately I was never able to get the hang of this. I'm definitely going to give it another try in the future, because I hate the idea of so many pads and tampons going into the landfills.
