The price is steep, but it pays for itself as everyone else has mentioned. It takes a bit to get used to, but now I will never go back to pads and tampons.
If your hesitating like I was, know this may be my best purchase this year!
I was nervous when I first bought this but I won't be switching back to pads or tampons any time soon. The divacup is more reliable in terms of not leaking and being able to leave it in longer is so helpful. If your worried about having to change it in a public washroom, I find I never need to. I simply empty it in the morning and then again before bed, no problems. It's a bit expensive but totally worth it. I recommend buying the wash that comes with it as it is suprisingly hard to find a natural soap that you would feel comfortable using with it and the bottle will last forever.
I've been using this for years. The initial price is a bit pricey but you save in the long run. If you have problems using it, it's worth doing some web research to learn more about inserting and sealing it. Highly effective when used right for your body.
Overall, I think the cup is great. It lasts up to ten years, so it's much cheaper than most other options, you can leave it in for 12 hours at a time, so it's more convenient than tampons, it stays in place much better than the disposable version, and it doesn't smell like pads or tampons. It's relatively easy to clean, too.
However, it does have some downsides. The company claims it will stay in place, and if it slips, you aren't doing enough kegels, but I've found that it does slip every so often, even if you regularly work your PC muscles. I think it happens rarely enough that it doesn't require a light pad under, but I wouldn't wear it with nice underwear on a heavy flow day. It is a pain to change if you're not at home since you have to wash it before you put it back. It's easy to clean enough to put back in, but hard to scrub away stains. Finally, it can only be cleaned with soaps free of oil, fragrance, and dye, even if they're natural, so you might have to search a bit. The DivaCup's own cleanser is quite expensive.
It's a great alternative and environmentally friendly product. If you dealt with tampons, this is not as wasteful. It takes a little practice. You're intimately involved and it works perfectly. It's good to have a light pad since it can leak a bit. It's not a lot of blood loss like you might think it is. Great to try and worth the money you're saving in the long run.
I absolutely LOVE my diva cup. I was hesitant at first, I thought it would be kinda gross. Now I won't use anything but! It takes a little getting used to, but after a few tries I had the technique down. The first month I felt strange not wearing bulky pads, as that was what I always wore, but I had no leaks and no mess with the cup. Now there is no more icky garbage. And it's definitely paid for itself as opposed to buying pads every month. I will never ever ever use anything else! And I recommend it to people (at least those who wouldn't think it strange for me to talk about it)
This product is by far the strangest birthday present I've ever given but I couldn't help it! This is the best period product out there and I wouldn't think of using anything else. The first time takes some adjustment, but once you get the hang of it, you'll never look back. Think of how much you are saving by not adding to landfills and general pollution. This should be given to every woman you care about!
The first few days, I was like: noooot working! But when I found how to really use it and have a good "fit", it's just like Wow! It changes totally how I feel during my period!
Hands down the best product I have ever bought. ever. I just wish I had heard about it sooner!
The DivaCup is so easy and convenient to use. When I first switched, I expected it to be a messy, stomach churning experience, but it's so not! Now I gag at the thought of going back to tampons. Absolutely worth every penny!
Wish I had bought the Diva Cup sooner. If I would have known that this was going to stop all the weird cramping and hip pains that I was getting using tampons, I would have bought sooner. This is something life changing for me and I'll never be without it again!
