It is a bit pricey but worth the $ as it saves buying tampons/pads every month so in the long run it ends up saving you $.
I wouldn't want to have to change it in a public bathroom but with that being said you don't need to change it as often as a pad or tampon so this is very beneficial! Only twice a day depending on how heavy your flow is (leave it in up to 12 hours). There is no risk of TSS (you can get with tampons) so leaving it longer than 12 hours is okay but try not to especially if your flow is heavy. If you're just spotting I wouldn't worry about it.
I had a little trouble getting it out the first couple times, but as soon as I got used to it, it was easy. You need to remember to relax (I was a bit nervous my first time)! Definitely better than tampons and pads! Great for the environment & your vagina! I was always worried about smell with tampons and pads but there is no worry with this! I feel a lot cleaner.
Make sure you read the instructions as I've heard several women complain they don't know how to get it in properly. I had no problem and no leaks. You have to be comfortable with yourself down there.
I got this half price at London Drugs and was so excited to not have to use tampons anymore. More environmentally friendly too! Unfortunately I was never able to get the hang of this. I'm definitely going to give it another try in the future, because I hate the idea of so many pads and tampons going into the landfills.
I've been wanting to try out this product for a while now since I have heard good things about it from my friends. I love the idea of this reusable cup and surprisingly it wasn't too uncomfortable to wear, just a little tricky to insert the first few times.
This is tricky to put in. Once I did get it in, it seems to be effective. I find for myself I can feel the nub at the bottom all the time and find it very irritating. So for now I just use it at night and it works great if you have it in properly then no leaks.
I also bought the wash and it has a really nice fresh scent.
I bought the wrong size by accident. It is still usable and fits fine. There is the occasional time it slides in a bit too far and it practically requires surgery to remove but overall I still like it better than tampons. I usually wear a washable pad in case of user error.
I was nervous when I first bought this but I won't be switching back to pads or tampons any time soon. The divacup is more reliable in terms of not leaking and being able to leave it in longer is so helpful. If your worried about having to change it in a public washroom, I find I never need to. I simply empty it in the morning and then again before bed, no problems. It's a bit expensive but totally worth it. I recommend buying the wash that comes with it as it is suprisingly hard to find a natural soap that you would feel comfortable using with it and the bottle will last forever.
This product completely freaked me out (at first). Between being the most clumsy person you will ever meet, to having a "thing" about a mess this was definitely not something I was jumping to try. One of my co-workers told me about this so I figured I'd give it a shot after a long convo. I'm still a bit torn, I think after you figure out the best way to get it in properly the coverage is amazing however the idea of having it in (and worse, REMOVING it) is something I still have to get over. Revolutionary product, defintely "green" but I'm not so sure I can be convinced this is for me.
When I was first introduced to the idea of the DivaCup, I honestly thought it was a little weird. A friend of mine convinced me to give it a try, so I purchased one, best purchase I've ever made! It saves me so much money, since I don't have to go out and buy tampons every month. I use it with a thin liner, just in case, but I've never had any problems. I carry a few wipes with me so that when I use public restrooms it's a little easier to clean. It was a little tricky to use the first time or two, but you catch on very quickly, most of the time I don't even realize I'm using it! I have already recommended it to many of my friends!
I know it sounds gross, but it really isn't. It's a bit of a pain the first month when you get used to putting it in (tip: Don't worry about being able to "turn" it, just stick your finger in and make sure it's popped open), but after that it's golden. 12 hours without changing your tampon? Good for the planet? Good for your body? Just make sure you boil it after each month - it helps keep it from staining as much (my only real disappointment with the product), and also keeps it as clean as possible to prevent any irritation. Also, skip the expensive diva wash, and wash it with something like spectro gel instead.
