    Such a ridiculous product

I've been trying to use this my last two periods and cannot for the life of me get the hang of it! It's so big! I either struggle to get it in or I struggle to remove it. Either way waaaay too much pain and effort for me. I'd rather not have to go digging

I purchased a size 2 Diva cup initially because I had to take blood thinners for 6 months, and my flow was so heavy that I was bleeding through Super+ tampons in a little over an hour, so I hoped this would last longer. I didn't find it overly difficult to fold or insert, however, I was only able to get the Diva Cup to seal properly a few times (using it for 2 months). So, I was still having consistent leakage, so I was always running to the bathroom to check myself. The part that I found the most difficult about using the cup, was to remove it. Every time I needed to remove it, I'd be in the bathroom for 15-30 minutes trying to grasp this thing, and get it out...without making my bathroom look like a crime scene. If I could get my money back for this, I would, because it was a waste of $40 for me.

Personally I'm not sure what the big hype is with this product - yes, it is good for the environment and I guess it could work out cheaper if your cycle was heavy, saving you on buying tampons and/or pads but I have a lighter flow and I would buy about 4 boxes of tampons a year - at $6 bucks each and this cup is $39 - and although it seems a lot of people don't - it does say you need to replace it once a year or so or risk the plastic breaking down...

Anyway, it's big and awkward and you have to twist it to get it in properly - and if you don't, it leaks :(

Like I said I know it's good for the environment but I'll stick with tampons - or the softcups which are a lot easier to get in and disposable so the 'ick' factor is lower - plus you can have sex with the softcup in - no fuss, no muss :)

I bought the DivaCup for environmental reasons - I like having something that is reusable instead of creating so much waste. But after a year and 4 months of trying to get this thing to work, I have finally given up and thrown it in the garbage. It is supposed to be leak proof, and when all the stars align and it magically finds its way to the right spot, it works okay. But 90% of the time it doesn't and is only half effective or not at all. I cannot use the DivaCup without having a pad backup, and I have a pretty light flow. You're supposed to rotate it to seal it in place, but I cannot get it to rotate even slightly. It has been a total waste of money, and they're not cheap! There are two sizes,: I bought the one that is supposed to be for women over 40, even though I have never had children; so I would consider buying the other one, but at 50 dollars and tax, I'm not sure I want to throw good money after bad.
