the night guard that I got through my dentist broke and I wanted an affordable replacement. I thought that I'd give The Doctor's Night Guard a try. You need to be careful when heating the product and molding it to your teeth in order to get a good fit. The product is said to last for at least 6 months based on how hard you grind your teeth. In March 2016, it was 1 year since I started using the night guard and I'm a hard grinder. I'm very pleased with this product.
I have also been having problems with grinding my teeth waking up with headaches and having my dentist confirm that Ive been grinding.Theres no way I could afford having one made custom they are very expensive so I checked out the stores. This sounded perfect and if you cant mold it to your teeth it said on the back of the box they would send a replacement.
I followed the directions and boiled it and tried my best to mold it to my teeth I found it to sticky and it didn't mold properly. The directions said you can try two attempts at boiling and molding.I attempted it again and really didn't think it was any better.
I wore it that night but it kept slipping out of my mouth and making me feel like I was choking.I contacted them and got a replacement and they were really good and said to call them they would guide me through the whole process which I did when it arrived.
I had the same problem that evening its just so awkward and uncomfortable I had a terrible sleep. So I guess its back to grinding my teeth hopefully I can find another solution before I wake up toothless!
I've been waking up, grinding my teeth and having my head hurt from it so I finally broke and bought a night guard. This was $30, which I thought was steep. I was right. It's supposed to be 'one size fits all' and mold to your mouth, but it isn't and doesn't.
I went through and read the instructions 3-4 times before actually trying to form it to my mouth. The 'channel' that you mold to your teeth becomes sticky after boiling, and gets on everything. From the fork you use to pull the thing out of boiling water to your fingers when you're trying to get the fork off the guard, the sticky substance pulls away from the guard and starts cooling immediately into a new shape. When you do finally manage to get the sticky mess into your mouth it doesn't 'suction' or mold properly. It doesn't stay put. This is a terrible product.
I'll just wait until all my teeth fall out and get dentures. Problem solved!
