The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins Reviews
#1 in Books

Description

Publisher's Description:
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

My daughter was interested in these books, so I thought that I would read them also. They turned out to be better than I expected. They kept you interested throughout the trilogy. Had to read until I was done.

I loved the first 2 books in this series. I read them in days and just couldn't get enough. I was not a fan of the 3rd book at all and thought that it really took away from the series and was kind of hard to follow

I just wasn't a huge fan of the series. I know many people are so they are worth a try. The story line and setting just weren't my cup of tea.

I loved this series. The first time I read it, it took me 3 days, and I barely slept! I've read it several times since, and probably will again soon.

This series is a fantastic read! It is pretty easy to pick it up and not want to put it down. It has a mix of action and a little bit of romance.... the combination works well.

Good for those girls who love a bit of action and post apocalyptic or dystopic stories. From beginning to end the trilogy keeps you glues to your seat and the way it is written keeps rhe reader begging for more.

I really loved this series! I liked how the focus was on a female heroic character instead of a male. All of the characters are easy to fall in love with and relate with. I definitely recommend reading this series because it gives you a bit of everything: action, love, etc. The movies are really good as well.

I love this series, both the books and the movies, there should be more series with a strong female heroine like Katniss Everdeen. The first book is definitely the best and I love the survival aspect of it but all three are good reads.
