Description
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

I absolutely loved these books and am finally in the midst of watching Catching Fire...this series always has you on your toes and I got attached to the characters (like most books!). I couldn't put them down without diving right back in as soon as I could

Very exciting books that keep you turning the pages! The language is simple enough to easily understand but words are placed beautifully together to create imagery for the reader. Very quick reads that stay with you for a long time!
These books will suck you in. I enjoyed every single one of the books, the only thing I would wish for is another book added to the series!

I could not put these books down when they came out - there were many sleepless nights because of these books.
this was an incredible book. it had me just wanting to read more and more as i went on. the only downside is that you are going to be immediately buying the second and third books after you finish this book because you enjoyed the first one so much.
