It’s a good lightweight oil
Good lightweight oil. Not too heavy on the skin. Better to keep in a cool environment. I’m sensitive to oils however those that opt for oil may like it.
Rosehip oil
I love this rosehip oil from the ordinary. This brand always amazes me with the quality and effectiveness of there products. I really love this serum for so many reasons. It feels amazing going on, not to oily so wearable under my makeup, it speaks in quickly and my skin has never looked better. I even find my redness has subsided quite a bit. I use this day and night and I’ve been loving it.
It is just ordinary...
Mediocre product, I found better rosehip oils that work way better from Winners and Marshalls. Effectiveness and quality is just average for this product... if you are on a budget you can try it, but honestly, I think places like winners and marshalls sell similar products, similar prices and could be better.
Great at hydrating skin, can cause acne.
I've been using this oil to help hydrate my skin in the dry winter. I put 2 or 3 drops in my moisturizer. The next day I feel like my skin is less dry. I was using this every night, but I found it was causing closed comedones(little bumps) on my face, so I only use it a few times a week and they went away. This is an affordable product for the amount you get.
It works, but could be better.
I enjoy this product, it has almost no smell which is great for my sensitive skin. However, it tends to break down any products I used before such as moisturizer or HA. It seems to sit on top of the skin rather than sink it.
Works well, smells odd
I began using this product about a year ago, it is one of the few I continually purchase from The Ordinary. I have dry skin and fine lines. I use this as the second last step in my night routine ( last step is Origins Drink It Up mask). My skin drinks it up, and then i seal it in. Does not break me out, but I'm not prone to breakouts. It does not smell like rose, but it does not smell bad.
Unstable Oil
Rosehip oil is an amazing dry oil, it has many benefits, and is a great oil to start with. It is not fitting whatsoever for dry skin, as it absorbs in too quickly. What isn't great about it is its shelf life. Rosehip oil only lasts for 6 months before going rancid, and once rancid, it is harmful to the skin. The shelf life label is listed at 12 months, which is deceiving - as the product does not last that long, without going rancid, even if refrigerated. While I like that TO sells this in 30 ml varieties, larger 120 ml varieties exist at a nicer cost. To use this up by the time it goes rancid, you would have to use it everyday, twice a day. The smell of this is grassy, oily and unassuming - though some people might not like that. The dropper format also isn't the greatest for helping it not go rancid.
So far so good!
I’ve only been using this for about a week so I probably need more time to figure out how this should fit into my routine. Right now I apply two drops to my face right before bed. While I haven’t noticed any significant changes, my skin is definitely softer and more hydrated. I’m excited to see what happens after long term use!
