Not good for sensitive skin
I like the ordinary brand. It is very affordable and ingredient lists are spot on. However, this serum gets little bit harsh on my skin. Probably because of the high percentage of niacinamide makes my skin sensitive. I’d prefer a lower %
My Intro to Niacinamides
This serum was my gateway to everything niacinamide...lol! When I keep getting maskne last year, I started doing research on how to prevent it. Virtually every article, blogger and YouTuber has this serum on their list to help combat those pesky maskne breakouts. I got this part of a value set since Sephora Canada was sold out but it was still pretty affordable. The serum worked like magic to prevent and reduce breakouts but I wasn't totally in love with it. I do find that this serum will and does pill with other products if you add 1 or 2 more extra drops. The zinc in the formulation also can sting and irritate my skin after application. Because of this, I have switched over to The Inkey List's version since I find it to be a better formula for me. I do recommend it for others to try though.
The Ordinary Niacinamide Sample Review
Great product! I saw result after the first week. Helps minimize the look of my acne scars a bit, and reduced the amount of redness on my skin (uneven skin tone). I would suggest this product, especially with how low cost it is.
Meh....ive
I've heard so much positive reviews about this product. I gave it a solid try finish 3/4 of of the bottle and I have not seen any difference to my skin. I don't notice if my skin is less oily. It feels about the same but it hasn't made my skin worse I just. I haven't seen positive changes. I would not buy this product again.
Overall improvement in texture and pores
I've used this product for a little over 2 months and have seen an improvement to the texture and brightness of my skin. My sebum production also seems pretty well regulated as I no longer get greasy in my T-Zone area even after a long day. I didn't see much of a reduction in pore size but this may be a job for salicylic acid instead of niacinamide. Value wise, this doesn't get any better than the price offered by the Ordinary. One thing i didn't like about this serum is the texture as it is kinda sticky and tacky when applied to the skin. Maybe i'm using too much but it leaves a film across my skin which i'm not too happy about.
Skincare holy grail!
The ordinary products really are amazing and that includes this absolute gem!
I have problem skin and this does amazing to help even out my skins surface and help with blemishes. 100% recommend this to anyone who suffers with their skin
Unsure
I’ve heard great things about this product and was really keen to try it. Perhaps I wasn’t using it correctly, but it just didn’t work for me. I didn’t use much at a time, however there was a lot of pilling and flaking whenever I touched my skin. Also, I didn’t really see any benefits. Maybe that’s just me?
Mixed feelings
After hearing so many great things about this product, I was expecting my skin to do a 180. I've been using this product for about a year and did not notice much change. My skin has definitely become less oil, but I don't know if I can attribute that to this product as it could be ageing and other products I use. I like to mix it into my moisturizer since niacinamide at low percentages (1%-3%) is scientifically shown to be effective and a higher percentage of 10% is likely to cause irritation. It's cheap so it's worth the try, but there are better options on the market, just a bit more money. Just make sure to patch test and use it on damp skin. Niacinamide is also known to cause purging.
A huge disappointment :/
The ordinary is known for great products. I have tried many other products from them before. I decided to try this niacinamide serum as everyone was talking about it!! When I spot tested the product everything seemed fine until I put it all over my face. I broke out really bad as what looked like an allergic reaction. Needless to say I really wanted to love this product because of the price and al the hype but I cannot bring myself to even like it.
Did not suit my skin
I tried this product to help with my acne and oily skin. I heard a lot about this product from friends and others. I tried it and noticed that when I rubbed it on my skin it turned foamy. I used it every day for two weeks but I started to break out as a result of the product. My skin is very sensitive and I don't think it really liked this product.
