The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell Reviews
#1044 in Books

Description

The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

The Tipping Point is an incredible book, very insightful on how small things can make a big difference. I'm still reading it and I'm already looking at the world differently! Malcolm takes ideas and moments in history and examines how things tip and become an epidemic and why some things don't stick. He covers various subjects like crime, fashion,tv shows like Sesame Street and Blues Clues and advertising/marketing campaigns. I love the analysis of what shows stick with pre-schoolers and how they think. I'm starting to understand my 3 yr old's behaviour more and more. Simply fascinating and a great read if you own a business, work in advertising, or work in social media.
