I like to bead in my spare time so to help me produce better finished pieces I bought the Tread Zap 2 By The Beadsmith. I bought it a Michaels with a 40% off coupon so I got a terrific deal. It takes two AAA batteries. I have had it for 3 years and used it many times and I have not had to replace the batteries yet. It gets closer to the place you want to finish/cut your thread and therefore does not leave unsightly thread hanging out of your project. It also burns/melts the end so there is no fraying of thread. It takes only seconds to heat and it is cordless so you are not getting tangled in cords. It does have replacement parts that do not come with it, but they are easily sourced.
