I'm going against the grain with a negative review for Tide Pods! I heard from a laundry detergent brand manager (they all use the same clear coating on these types of "pods") that they aren't recommended for cold water use. In fact, my friend used it in cold water, the plastick-y coating didn't dissolve fully, and she unknowingly put the entire load of laundry in the dryer, which baked the gooey mess into her clothes - she had to throw the entire load of laundry out.
After hearing that, I only use these pods in hot water (which is unnecessary for lightly dirty clothes, and makes fabric deteriorate faster), and won't be repurchasing. Furthermore, you can't use less than one pod if you desire, and manufacturers typically overstate how much detergent is needed for one load so that you go through detergent faster (I used to work with the manufacturers). Finally, the scent was too strong for me.
I liked the smell of these and how easy it was for my 8 yr old to help do laundry compared to the liquid these are easier and more handy to grab and throw in. Unfortunately tho numerous times I've found pieces of the pod still in my clothes and if u put them in the dryer with those they melt and harden onto your clothes!
I've tried these in the past and wasn't impressed. They didn't get the clothes clean, so I rewashed them again. It's no use to me if I have to wash them twice before they are clean.
These seem to work very good. I have a front load washer and just find that it is does not totally dissolve and a bit of the plastic is still in the washer. I also like to make sure I have a coupon for this.
they're o.k for small loads, but for larger loads I don't find them very effective. I'd just stick to the regular liquid version.
I found with these pods that I've had to re run my washer (front load) twice for the pods to properly dissolve.
Not a fan of these pods at all. I find them very overpriced (unless on sale), and didn't see the benefit in using these versus liquid laundry detergent.
I tested them in both hot and cold water, and found that in both cases, the pod didn't dissolve properly. I can see why some people may find these handy, but I will not use these again.
I like these little pod things for my laundry but they can be expensive. I bought a big thing of them in the orange container and every time I need to use one it takes a bit of prying to get it open.
