Disappointed :( any advise!!

I was so looking forward to this palette but it did not live up. I waited over 3 weeks for this and tho the colors look great and the packaging is nice but it did not go on well and the fall out was horrible. More ended up on my face then on my eyes and it was so hard to blend. I wanted to love this product so bad only a few of the shadows show up without having to build them up tons. any suggestions on how to make this product more usable? would maybe spraying my brush with a setting spray keep the color in place and make it more pigmented?
