Absolute best piece of beauty advice I've ever figured out; eye shadow primer. I've tested a whole lot of different eye shadow primers, but I always find myself returning to Two Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer. I have never had my eye shadow crease when I used it. Sometimes, especially during the summer, my eyelids have a tendency of being excessively oily, still never creases. It also helps optimize my eye shadow's colours. It retails for $18 - $24 CDN & contains 0.35 oz of product. This may not seem like much product, but to be VERY honest, a lot goes a LONG way. One tube can last for months. It's easy to get out of the tube, and get ALL of the product out, nothing will get stuck in there at the end. It's easy to use, very creamy and blendable. It's a skin colour that blends out seamlessly, you can't even tell its on your lids. It does even skin tone of the eye lids for those who have vein-y eye lids, some people get self concious about sometimes, so this product may help! It's a product I will continue to repurchase this until I can find something better... but I doubt I will! ;)
This Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer works great!
It's easy to use and keeps shadow from fading, creasing and smudging! :)
You don't need to use much and it saves you from having to clean up smudgy eye shadow messes.
Holy Grail worthy! This primer is easy to apply (I pat it on with my finger), makes colours more vibrant, prevents creasing, and my eyeshadow lasts all day/night with this on. Definitely worthy of a try!
I love everything Too Faced, and enjoy Shadow Insurance as a light primer when wearing neutrals or lighter colours. It is easy to apply, easy to work with, and easy to remove at the end of the day!
I have both Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Urban Decay Primer Potion. They are quite similar but I do prefer TFSI over UDPP just due to the packaging. The squeeze tube is really precise so you can squeeze out just the smallest bit of product if you want. TFSI is much more emollient then UDPP so it's easier to spread out. The key is that you only need a very little amount, if you apply too much then it will not be as effective.
I don't have especially oily lids, I don't wear dark or bold eyeshadow very often so I don't really experience creasing much. I rely on primer mainly for my bottom lid, because of my eye shape and oily eye/cheek area I am guaranteed to have mascara smudges in that area regardless of it being a long wearing waterproof mascara (even the, reportedly, budge-proof Last Blast in Waterproof smudged for me within an hour). I will apply the primer all along my under eye and outer corner and then powder the area. Truly has been lifesaver, I've been mascara smudge free ever since!
Too Faced Shadow Insurance is the best primer out there! I have been using it for over a year now and its my favorite. It lasts all day and keeps my make up in place where i want it. It's $18 and its absolutely worth it! I recommend this to anyone and if you haven't tried it, go and get it! You will not regret this! Most of the people using Urban Decay after trying out Too faced Shadow Insurance change to it! Its really amazing :)
My eyelids can be really oily, especially in the hotter weather, and I don't know what I'd do without this product. It really does keep your eyeshadow fresh with a 'just applied' look that lasts throughout the day.
Now, I've tried the Urban Decay Potion primer too, and it is just as good -- equal results, I think. However! That container allows for so much waste of product, and what use is a cute little bottle when you have to cut it up with a knife to access the contents when there is still over 1/3 of the primer left? Ack! Mutilated plastic becomes less than cute.
Too Faced got it right when they decided to package their Shadow Insurance in a nifty little tube.
I was getting really tired of my eyeshadow creasing all the time. I know lots of people think they have oily eyelids, but I have REALLY oily eyelids. So much so that regular shadows crease within 3-4 hours of me putting them on. Finally, I decided to try using a primer and see where that got me.
Too Faced's Shadow Insurance is pretty amazing. It lasted me 11 hours before my eyeshadow started to crease with just a thin layer of product, and one thing I definitely noticed was that it made the color of the shadow so much more vibrant than without a primer. The shadow also clung to the primer really well.
I can't compare this to Urban Decay's Primer Potion just yet. However, just judging from the packaging, I would go with the Shadow Insurance, since they're the same price and I'm lazy as heck and would rather not cut open a bottle just to reach for more product. Also, I've read other reviewers that have compared the two products and they're really about the same, except that the Primer Potion is more popular.
I HAVE tried Lancome's Ombre Perfecteur and that lasted about 8 hours before the shadow started to crease, if that comparison helps.
Was kinda skeptical about this product only because i have used others that have also said will prevent shadow from creasing but boy was i surprised with this one! I Loove it! It does exactly what it says! I wear cream shadow on top of my eyeshadow and have always experienced creasing (which i hated) but when I apply this underneath my shadow it makes it stick and it lasts all day!
