Three Products- All Great
There are several varieties of these custard buns available on the market. There are 1) Individually wrapped custard buns that can be found at various stores for $1. These can be frozen and then defrosted when you want to eat them, and they will not lose their taste or quality. 2) Custard buns shaped like pigs, which can be bought from T&T;. These needs to be put in the steamer for 15 minutes to cook. 3) Custard buns that are made in-store at Independent and/or Loblaws that have the T&T;brand.
All of the buns taste slightly different but are all similar in that they are made of a soft bread with a vanilla custard in the centre. The custard is creamy and thick. They are all delicious.
Fresh and Delicious
These buns can be found at T&T;. They come in packs of 4 for $5.99. They are freshly made. When you buy these and are ready to eat them, you can put them in a steamer for 15-18 minutes and they will become soft. The bread is light and fluffy. The custard inside tastes like freshly made custard that is sticky to the touch. The flavors of this are great! It is a good treat.
I just discovered these at Fortinos. They were only $0.99 each and are individually wrapped. They are a big bun, so you are definetely getting your money's worth. The bun itself is extremely soft! Almost a sticky like consistency, similar to a pork soft bun. The inside is jammed with custard. It's not a runny, creamy texture, rather it's a bit more firm, if that makes sense, These are so delicious! Perfect for on the go, and are filling.
