When this book was released, I really enjoyed it and purchased all of the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer. Would I purchase them now that I am in my 30s? Probably not. As a teenager though, these books were a great easy read.
Used to be obsessed with this book when it was popular but know I look at it and wonder what the heck I was thinking. Written terribly, total obvious outcomes, and very unlikeable characters (sparkly vampires).,
I was not a fan of this book. It isn't very well written: it seems like every other sentence ends in "...", and the characters in this book are very static and boring. I prefer books that have strong female leads, and twilight is the opposite of that. It seems like every time Bella goes out of Edward's sight, she almost gets killed. The ultimate female relying on a male. I don't think this book has any kind of role models for young women. The message is basically to fall in love with the most attractive boy you meet, even if he is moody and dangerous.
This is an easy read, the books are really better than the movies. Cute love story, completly addictive, when I started a book, I can't stop reading until the end!
I actually went out and got the box set of these books after watching the first movie and I liked reading the first book even better than watching it in the screen. I loved these books they were a good read.
My sister had all these books ans she loved them. I tried to get into them but I couldn't. But I actaully had to read one for school for English and I got half way and lost interest.
I love this series! well I love this series in book form. when it comes to the movies not so much. This book however is simply amazing and has so much more to offer then what the movie did. Edward cullen is more appealing and bella swan is an amazing character.
I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at the Twilight Saga. I read the Saga because my daughter at the time had the books and I wanted to see what the hype was about. I love supernatural stories and enjoyed this story. The reading was easy to follow and I could empathize with the characters. It would be wonderful if true love was as strong as it is in this series. The strong family bonds with the vampires and the werewolves was great to see and also how they intertwined. It is worth the read.
I enjoyed reading these books. I would not say it is great literature, but it is worth the time. I did not want to read it at first (too popular), but then it was good. Sweet and easy to read, girly.
I really enjoyed reading the twilight series and watching the movies. The books were a lot better and detailed. I was hesitant at first that a book about vampires would be interesting but In the end it turned out to be a true love story:)
