Twilight by Stephenie Meyer Reviews
#4 in Books

Description

Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. This is the the 1st book in the Twilight Saga.

I read the series before my daughter did to make sure they were suitable for her to read. They are good for the audience they are intended for, she was 11 when she read it and enjoyed the story line. And at her age everyone loves vampires lol.

I enjoyed the first book even thought it was corny - but the last 3 (especially the 4th) just highlight the poor writing skills.

Twilight was a good enough book to escape daily life worries but the book didn't fell like it was worth reading even a sentence over again. Within the series, Twilight was the worst one to me. I get that background information is needed for the next books but it was so much that it bored the hell out of me.

vampires are meant to burn in the sun, rip your throat apart and drink your blood. Not sprarkle in the sun, save your life over and over, or fall in love.

    Horrible book.

What an amazing creation. Stephenie Meyer is one of my writing idols. This book will move you like never before. Since I have read this series, I have been hooked on Fantasy novels involving vampires, werewolves, feries, etc..I just love this genre. There are so many wonderful little extras when you read the book compared to viewing the movie. While reading this book, you get into the heads of the main characters, so you know how they feel at any given moment. Stephenie Meyer lets us into their world like no other author has done in a long time. I love this book. Again if you go to Amazon.ca (or .com) you will get very reasonable prices on her books.

I finally had to read this book because of all the hype about the series, including from my friends. Don't believe the hype.

Even looking at this from a pre-teen / teenage perspective, since this is who these books are written for, I was disappointed. This series portrays its female lead as a helpless girl who needs a man to save her. If I had a daughter I would not want her reading books that encourage that mentality.

There are so many books for young adults with a strong female lead, spend your money on one of those instead.
