HELLO HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here I am talking about one of my favorites desserts....
This cheesecake and those cheese tarts they have there are AMAZING!
Uncle Tetsu’s Cheesecake & Honey Madeleines
I think the title itself says it all. Cheesecake is so soft, light and decadent at the same time.
And the honey madeleines are absolutely scrumptious, so much that my kids fell in love with them and are totally addicted to them.
It’s a must have now at least once a week.
Although the price for the cheesecake, I find is over priced.
I always see a huge line up when I'm passing by. Decided to go with my hubby and didn't see what the hype is about. It was really soft and fluffy but I'm a texture gal and was way too soft. It's decent but not worth th line up. Maybe it's more popular in Japan but its alright.
I was in Toronto recently and decided to buy a cheesecake after seeing that the place is always lined up (not a huge line). You can only line up for one cheesecake each time. It is $10 for a 6 inch freshly made cake, payable by cash or debit only. The cake was fresh and warm when I got it but because I was full, I did not try it when it was still fresh and warm. I left it in the fridge and ate it a couple of days later cold. The cold cake was still very good - fluffy, light and creamy. It's a lighter version of the traditional cheese cakes and is not sweet. I've heard that it taste even better when fresh. I'm thinking it would be even more fluffier? So I must try them again.
I saw the store in Asia and there was no customers so I decided to get one and try it fresh out of the oven. Unfortunately, I prefer them cold. I find the taste of the fresh ones to be overpowered by the eggs in it and it was too soft/mushy for my liking. I had the chance to try other brands of this type of cheesecakes (though they were served cold) while in Asia that had similar price points and found those alternative brands to taste way better.
The one that opened in Toronto was so popular that lineups for the small place took 2 hrs avg. When I finally went, it died down a bit and was only about 20-25 mins but standing in the small area where they do the baking and the cash was so unbearably hot.
Now about the cheesecake, it is fluffy and light and so yummy you really have to eat it slowly to appreciate it in case lineups get long again. Also, it's $10 for one box, one per person so it's pretty exclusive.
