I usually love Urban Decay products, but I was not a big fan of this concealer pencil. I bought this for days when I just wanted to cover a few problem spots without putting on my regular makeup. It applies smoothly, but this was the closest shade to my skin colour and I am still not happy with it. It doesn't cover some of my post-acne markings too well. I also am still trying to figure out how to sharpen the darn thing because it does not appear to twist up and the case is made of plastic. I see someone else has recommended using the Grindhouse Sharpener for it, but I don't think I want to buy a sharpener just to use this product that I am not really that happy with.
This product really does last 24/7. So nice not to worry about make up wearing on half way through day.
I ordered the CIA shade and it was a good color match for my fair skin. It might have even been slightly lighter but the formula wasn't great in my opinion. It hardly covered any flaws and as an under eye concealer is was a bit dry and fell apart after a couple of hours, it didn't hold. It settles into fine lines and felt caked. If you apply literally just a tap it was okay but that amount didn't help to cover discoloration. I wish the formula was better and I did try to like it with several use but it didn't work so I returned the product. I wish they would make a foundation shade in this color for the high definition foundation because it would be a good match for fair tone skin. Also the rim around the pencil looked like hard plastic and am wondering how it would shave down in a sharpener.
This is my only concealer now, it works amazingly to cover any problem areas and is easy to apply in it's penvil form. It works great as an all over foundation as well if you're in a hurry as only a small amount of product is needed!
I have very fair skin and always have a hard time finding a light concealer for me. I love the Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer! It is so easy to use and applies smoothly onto the skin. It glides on easily and really does last all day (even on my very oily skin). It lasted me a long time (which I expected, since it is on the pricey side). I would definitely recommend!
I'm forever trying new concealers in a perhaps conceited attempt to "banish" my dark circles. I love my MAC Studio Finish concealor, but I really wanted something on-the-go. Basically, something I could throw on right before I ran out the door for class or to reduce post-swimming pool redness.
This pencil isn't as easy as you'd imagine, unless it matches your skin-tone exactly, you can't just "draw and go" as I had hoped. It is super creamy, and stays put forever. I love how you can just scribble all over your face and blend it away for a flawless finish. The 24/7 concealer does a *great* job of covering up my dark circles!!! I highly recommended it. I bought it in the shade DEA and it matches my NW20 skintone almost perfectly.
It is absolutely yellow based, which is why I say almost perfectly. My very pink skin is in somewhat sharp contrast and therefore, I can't wear this as a stand-alone concealer or as a mock-foundation. Yellow toned girls will rejoice though. Sometimes I like the yellow tone to it around my nose & cheeks, but I'd rather blend than try to correct...
Another hang-up is that you really need the Grindhouse sharpener to keep this thing the right shape. I'm super happy with this grinder though, and use it for all of my pencil products and get amazing results. Personally, I keep a little screw-lid jar I got from Wal-Mart and transfer all the concealer (not the surrounding pencil) shavings into it so that I get the full use of the stick.
It takes a little time to get used to working, but you can get wonderful "airbrushed" coverage with this that lasts and lasts.
I rotate this product, sometimes I'm crazy about it and then it sits in my makeup bag for about a week....
Not exactly my HG (Holy Grail) concealer, but a darn fantastic one and if you haven't tried it already, I recommend it!
