This is the only eyeshadow primer I have ever tried so my review is biased. I find that my shadow does last longer when I use this, but I still have creasing even when I use this. I might repurchase, but I think I will try the Nars primer next.
I love this stuff.
I have oily skin, which is something I've mentioned in nearly every review I've written here. It doesn't matter what I do, even my eyelids get oily, which means, no matter how awesome the eyeshadow, it's going to crease. Until now. I received a small sample of Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and, honestly, I'll never stop using it. Since starting to use it, I've noticed that my eyeshadow doesn't crease at all anymore. Even if I put it on under some of the cheaper shadows I own, they'll last all day, no creases, no rubbing off. And as an added bonus, the primer makes the colour richer.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it makes it a little difficult to blend colour. I have to be careful about how I've applied it, because if I want to blend the shadow into my crease, I'll need to avoid using too much primer there. But all in all, it's an excellent product.
If you have oily lids this is a must. Eyeshadow will stay perfectly all day no creases!
never once have i had any eyeshadow last more than a few hours on my super oily lids. i wasn't willing to spend $20 on a primer because i figured there was no hope, so why bother. when i got my urban decay naked palette, i got a tube of the primer too, but put it to the side and forgot about it. i rediscovered it a few days ago, and have been using it since. 13 hours into my makeup, it was still creaseless. how impressed was i! well worth the money and i will definetely repurchase.
I received a full-sized Primer Potion when purchasing Urban Decay's Naked palette this past weekend. I was excited to try it as I've always heard favorable reviews and have always used MAC's Paints as an eye primer/base. I couldn't have been more disappointed. I found the product very watery and caused my shadow to also become somewhat watery and; therefore, the product looked like it was caked on my lids. I actually had to remove my eye makeup and start over again using my trusted MAC paint. I will not be recommending this primer to anyone.
my eyeshow was always creased mid day prior to using urban decay primer potion. Now my eyeshow stays where it should all day. The tube of potion lasts a while because you only need a very small amount. i got a small tube at christmas and have used it everyday since and i still have alot left. This product is amazing, definatly worth the price!
My eyelids get oily and it causes my eyeshadow to crease- eww. This primer is amazing. My eyeshadow does not fade and if I put it on in the morning for school it's still looks amazing without a touch up when I go out at night. MUST HAVE PRODUCT!
i'm completely in love with this primer!! i use it every day before i put my eye shadow on and it keeps in on the full day. Definatly worth the money.
This product is simply awesome. I use this in the original/clear formula, and love it. For the amount you use at a time, a bottle can last a VERY long time. It is well worth the price. Shadows apply smoother and with more color pay off and it really does make them last all day long. I tend to have oily eyelids and if I don't use this my shadow creases within a few hours, but with the primer potion I have yet to experience my shadow creasing (even cream shadows!)
I found the matte potion to be a strange consistency and a bit too yellow for my skin, which is fair.
And if you have the old style bottle with the wand- remove the little translucent stopper from the top- you'll be amazed at how much product you probably still have in there! So glad they're making this in a tube now
I have tried both the original as well as the Eden primers. Eden is by far my favourite. I love that it is matte! It makes the perfect base for all of my shadows and really does make them last throughout the day. I have even tested its effectiveness, by just wearing it on one eye. And the difference between my two eyes at the end of the day was insane!
