Not bad

Quite decent primer, helps your foundation apply smoother. I noticed neither wear time improvement, nor pores minimization. It doesn’t add any moisturization. Not the worst primer I’ve ever tried, but I was not impressed. I'm not going to buy the full version after my mini ends.

My HG primer

This is my most favorite primer and I've tried most of them high end and drugstore. I have combo skin and large pores and this primer does a great job of evening out my skin tone and filling in pores. My makeup lasts through my sweaty 16 hour work shifts no problem. Will always keep this in my makeup collection.

Smooth

I got a 5mL sample. I'll be buying the full size once the sample is done. I apply it to my cheeks and my pores looks better. I get a smooth, flawless look when foundation is applied. When the primer is applied it does go on pink, but the foundation covers it up. Texture is silicone.

Good

I’ve been using this off and on for a while now and I enjoy it. It doesn’t give me the blurring effect that it promises but it does make my makeup go on evenly and makes it last a long time

Keeps my makeup on longer.

When I received this in a monthly beauty box subscription i'm joined to I was excited to try it. Unfortunately I wasn't as impressed with it as I wanted it to be. I found it wasn't as easy to spread as my usual primer and it didn't fill in my frown lines as good as some other primers. Although it looked good on the cheek and chin area it enhanced the slight dryness I have been having this winter on my forehead.

Alot of the time I like to wear primers on their own just to even out my skin tone but this one had a tint that was slightly lighter than my skin giving me an even paler complexion. Despite all that it did keep my BB cream on longer and it didn't break up around the nose area like it usually does after a few hours of wearing.

I like that this primer contains Argan oil and rosehip oil which are great antioxidants and have so many great benefits for the skin. Although this primer wasn't great for my normal to combination skin, it might work better for skin types. I might try it again after I get rid of the dry skin on my forehead and see if I have a better outlook on this product.

Best Foundation Primer for Dry Skin

I have very dry skin, that is acne prone, and a lot of break outs regularly. I use the Urban Decay Optical Illusion Primer and it hides all of my imperfections and allows my make up to go on, AND hide my dry skin. It helps make my skin picture perfect, and I don't think I could use any other primer. It is silicone based so it leaves your skin feeling so smooth.

Urban decay optical illusion primer is the best primer ever

I was hesitant when everyone started using primer before foundation. To be honest I thought it was a waste of money! All that changed when I was shopping in Sephora and received a free sample of Urban Decay Optical Illusion Primer. I have fallen in love with it and will not be without it! It absolutely leaves your skin a soft and smooth surface for your foundation to glide effortlessly onto. And a little goes along way! I just add a dot to my forehead, both cheeks, my nose and chin and blend well. I'm so thankful that I was given this product to try. I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants a flawless foundation!

Smooth like butter

Fantastic product I highly recommend. It's silky and minimizes pores flawlessly. You need a pea size amount for your entire face therefore using sparingly as the cost is approx $50 CAD at Sephora or Shoppers drug mart beauty boutique. Would absolutely purchase again!!!

I wish they would improve formula

I liked this primer a lot, it did everything it said BUT, when I applied foundation it seemed like it was rolling off my skin in tiny little balls, almost like residue from a peel-off masque – attempted several times as I really wanted this to work (tried several different foundations, different applicators, and even changing up moisturizer/trying without) but unfortunately it's getting returned...bummed!

My quest for a great primer to wear alone AND under foundation continues!
