I'm not a huge fan of petroleum jelly as a moisturizer because I find it greasy but I really like to use this for a lip balm and it's also great for removing eye makeup!
It's funny. My mom used to swear by Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. She used it to remove makeup (especially that stuff on Halloween), to moisture our lips and noses in the winter and to soften her chapped hands during gardening season and winter. Now that I'm a mom, I turn to Vaseline for the same things...there's no other product on the market that is as multi-functional. I also used it on my babe when they had crazy diaper rash and it worked like a charm.
This has got to be my favorite vaseline product, do many uses for it. From scrapes to cuts to cold sores and burns. Product is used frequently in my household. Couldn't ask for a better product, its easy to use and don't burn or sting.
The original lipsaver. So many uses, so versatile and a part of every household. I use it on my lips and my feet and it does wonders for both.
The only downside is it's not very planet friendly.
I use vaseline when I feel a cold sore starting. When it starts tingling I put vaseline on the area. I apply 2 or 3 times a day and I will not get a cold sore. I also use it for dry or sunburn lips.
This is one of those products most people just have on hand. It can be used for lots of things in a pinch but i'm not sure its really great at anything...
For myself, I tend to use this most for severely chapped lips. Granted this isn't a great use for it, because petroleum jelly can lock in moisture, but doesn't really add moisture to your skin itself. My suggestion would be to layer this over something like a body butter or moisturizer on your driest skin, so that it can trap in all the moisture from that product.
I also recently used Vaseline to help heal a big cut on my knee, as you aren't supposed to use Polysporin with antibiotics for weeks on end. The vaseline helps to keep your skin supple, and locks in the moisture that helps skin to heal without a scar. Scarring happens most when a cut or wound is left to scab, so keeping it moisturized is key to not scarring.
Currently we have 4 containers of Vaseline on the go. We use it for diaper changes, as lip balm, on skin issues. Vaseline is a natural water barrier and the price is right as well. Vaseline is a brand that our family trusts and will continue to use.
Is there any other product on the market that can surpass this one? I think not. My go-to for cuts bruises for rough skin for anything really. Definitely a staple in my bathroom and first aid kit
I always have a tub of Vaseline Original Petroleum Jelly in my home. It works great as a moisturizer but has sooooo many more uses! Very versatile product. Been around for many years! Definitely a staple in my house!
This is the only petroleum jelly that I will use, I use it when my lips are extremely dry or chapped, as well, it works great for my elbows that seem to get extremely dry in the winter time,
