I've tried all 3 versions of this lotion and it's not bad! It goes on pretty well and feels like it may have a bit of silicone in it to help trap moisture.
I personally don't really like any of the scents it came in--they were far too strong and detracted from the experience. The lotion itself was ok, my skin was moisturized after using it, but it had a bit of a greasy feel. I also wonder about the cost. You get very little lotion in the bottle, and it goes quickly if you use it on your whole body! I'm not sure what they're charging (I got mine for free) but it's probably too much since you go through it so fast.
Overall its an ok product but I will probably not buy it for myself, I will stick to my no-name intensive lotion which absorbs better and costs less!
I got two free bottle from the Product Review Club. I have been using it for the last 10 day and find it a little runny for my taste. It does an average job of moisturizing the skin, I feel like it depite being runny, absorbs easily but leaves a film and leaves me craving more moisturizers. It seems like your average drug store body lotion but more absorbant. I guess I just like richer products. I think I would liked this alot more in the summer time when I need less of a moisturizer.
I was super excited to get two free bottles of Vaseline Sheer Infusion as part of the Product Review Club, but I've got to say it: I'm just not that into it. This moisturizer falls squarely into the average category for me, and for $10 a bottle, a moisturizer better be better than average. That said, I'll try to break it down into some pros and cons.
Pros:
*The texture is lightweight and silky, making it a nice moisturizer to consider in the summer
*"Vitamin" has a rather nice, perfume-y, citrus-y scent (again, good for summer)
*Admittedly, it DID prevent my legs from itching... but so do other moisturizers, so I'm not sure if that's saying much
*My skin feels soft 12 hours after application
Cons:
*There's nothing super exciting about it - no luxurious emollient moisturizers like shea and cocoa butter, the scent was kind of "sporty" rather than pretty, and (this is minor) I do not like the packaging (yes, I am influenced by packaging). Again, a little too "sporty".
*Takes a bit of time to absorb
*I found the lotion left an almost powdery film on my skin after absorbing. There is "tapioca starch" listed in the ingredients. This might be the cause?
*After trying it for three weeks, I am not convinced that three layers of my skin are being moisturized. I feel as if the moisturizer is behaving the way most moisturizers behave - they work for around 24 hours, and then either you take a shower and have to reapply, or your skin dries out and you have to reapply.
Verdict:
All in all, I wouldn't buy this again. As far as Vaseline products go, I'd stick to their amazing body butter, which works a lot better than their Sheer Infusion.
Vaseline Sheer infusion is a great moisture therapy! I have really dry skin in the winter and this has helped. the price is a little expensive, I'd recommend to purchase it with a coupon.
Received this as part of the product review club... thanks for the great packaging too! My hubby was impressed and it's nice to have one to give away too!
The package is easy to open and comes out smoothly. Nice smell and smooth texture. I found that it left a bit of a "film" on my skin compared to some of my other lotions and it did not absorb as well as I would like, particularly on my hands. It seems to work okay on my legs but I agree with the comments made by a previous reviewer that there are better brands out there.
L'Occitane is one of my holy grail lotions and it does wonders on the really dry skin on my hands and feet. I compared the Vaseline to that one, and the Vaseline one did not absorb as well and was not as good for the really rough/dry areas.
Overall it's an average lotion but the price point is quite high. I'd wait for a coupon or sale to try it.
Please ignore my rating on cost as I don't know what this sells for but assumed it was average-priced. I liked this product quite a bit. I'm not big on scents but this had a very light scent that didn't bother me at all. Plus it moisturized really well. The only thing is that I'm not sure how much of the product actually absorbs into the skin because I applied it at night and when I showered in the mornings I could feel the film from the lotion so it was slippery as it washed off my skin. I didn't like that at all because it felt like it was just sitting on top of my skin. Still, whatever was absorbed seemed to help my skin which is usually very dry in the winter and I'd buy it again.
I received this from the ChickAdvisor product review club. I love how it goes on so smoothly and myskin feels silky afterwards. It absorbs quickly without leaving any kind of greasy feeling. I have very dry heels and elbows and eczema on the back of my leg and it didn't really help with those areas that much. But for just a day to day lotion to use after a shower or washing my hands, it's quite nice. After seeing the price of it in Shopper's Drug Mart though ($9.99), I don't think I would buy it unless it was on sale.
I received a bottle of Vaseline Sheer Infusion in a swag bag from a party that I recently attended in Toronto and I was thrilled to be able to try out this product. I was very pleased with the texture of this product, it went on smoothly and was creamy. I found that the product absorbed well into my skin and that it also provided a lot of moisture without being greasy. My only complaint with this product is that I did find the smell a bit strong for my taste. If the smell was a bit more subtle I would look to use this product again.
