Like many others out there, throughout my late teens and early 20's I bought lower-end brands of makeup such as Cover Girl because they were cheap and got the job done. However, in my late 20's my skin became very oil prone and my usual concealers and foundations started giving me bumps and acne. After applying makeup in the morning, even with concealer and powder, my face was shiny as a mirror by mid-day, and I would have to pile up the powder two or three times a day.
One day at the store I was looking for a "hard-core" concealer to hide my new face bumps and I came upon the Vichy Dermablend Skin Concealer. For me, spending more than $15.00 on makeup was unheard of since I am a thrifty shopper, but I was willing to "splurge" on this concealer because I was part of a Wedding Party and I didn't want my red spots to show in pictures. Long story short, the Vichy Concealer was *amazing*. It covered all the spots thoroughly, lasted for ages (over 8 hrs), and a tiny dot was enough to cover any blemishes. I loved this product so much that I decided to invest on the Vichy Foundation too and my experience was extremely positive.
The Vichy NormaTeint Foundation is much lighter than the concealer but the coverage is really excellent. It starts of liquid but very quickly it sets and matte-fyes on your face. I thought the product was expensive at first but after using it I changed my mind. The product can sustain long-term wear (8-10 hours), lasts for a long time (one tube, around 6 months), and it improved my skin condition tremendously. After I tried this product, I had no more re-applying and no more shinyness.
For those of you hesitant about this product, I can tell you that it is worth spending the 20 to 30 dollars it costs rather than throw away 3 different packs of 12.00 cheap foundations because your face is an oily and pimpled mess. Its more pricey, but its worth it! And its much better than other pricier foundations you can get at Department Stores (such as Dior, etc. which can be $50 to $80). I believe this product is also non-comedogenic and allergy free, but double check since sometimes formulations and labeling vary by country.
If you want to try it out at first, approach the makeup counter at Shopper's Drug Mart (Canada) and ask for a sample. They don't advertise the samples much, but you can totally get small tryout sachets to match the shade to your skin. Since you're gonna drop more money than you would on a lower-end product, I'd really encourage everyone to ask for a sample.
Overall, I found the Vichy Norma Teint foundation to be an excellent product that did not worsen the condition of my skin and gave me a go-to foundation within my price range. Super Buy! Try It Out!
I spent most of my late 20's getting acne caused from overactive sebaceous cysts. I didn't have acne growing up and this wasn't something I was used to. A friend recommended the Vichy line and I used the Normaderm face wash. I wasn't a fan but started experimenting with other products. I since exclusively use Vichy for my skin care. I LOVE it! I still don't use the Normaderm face wash but I use other Normaderm products such as the toner and night cream. However, I suppose that this entry is about the NormaTeint. I am in love with this product. I first found it in the UK and it has recently started selling in Canada in Shopper's Drug Mart and London Drugs. It has a very light feel and gives you a matte finish. It does not cover your natural features and lasts all day. I never get build up from the product and I apply it with the bristle brush from MAC Makeup which I also love. This product is top notch and the container is 30ml but lasts me about 6 months or so. Because of the natural coverage, it is not necessary to use a lot of the product. I hightly recommend this foundation for natural, comfortable coverage.
