This is a must have in any medicine cabinet.I think most kids have memory's of growing up and mom rubbing this on there chest it was always so soothing and comforting. Then passed down from generation to generation as my son uses this as well,Its been around a very long time and trusted. The camphor in it helps make a stuffed nose clearer and rubbing it on the chest helps soothe a cough and cold. Also good in a humidifier for nasty colds the steam will fill the air with the vicks. Also good in a bowl of hot water and steaming your sinuses with a towel over your head and breathing in the menthol steam. They even made these so you could put it into a outlet(like a glade scent holder)not sure if they make those any more.
There are also other uses for Vicks its great to rub into sore muscles or sore feet. Its good for nail fungus.Cold sores and insect bites to relief the itch.I also like to rub it into my temples when I have a bad headache.I also love many of the ingredients Eucalyptus Oil,Camphor, extract from pine needles, cedar leafs and nutmeg oils all natural ingredients that work!
Love vicks vaporub! It instantaneously provides aid to nasal congestion, releaves coughs and makes for a better night sleep. When my girls are sick I rub this on their feet and cover with socks I'm not sure how but it calms their cough and seems to make them feel better faster.
Vick's Vaporub is amazing to use at night if you're suffering from nasal congestion or/and a cough.
You can use it in the daytime too, of course, but if you have to work I wouldn't recommend it because the scent is very strong.
I like to rub it on my chest and neck before bed when I'm sick.
This product works wonders and without the side effects that an oral medication could cause.
Great for children and adults :)
Vicks Vaporub reminds me of my childhood. Always used it when we were sick just the smell makes me feel better! Clears up congestion and helps soothe coughs without all the effects of other medications. It can be expensive sometimes but I grab it on sale and stock up.
My daughter recently had a bad case of bronchitis. Before resorting to an antibiotic and a DR visit we tried this for a few days and nights. it worked great and was very helpful in breaking up all the mucus without having to take medications. After a few days of applying it day and night she was much better. The scent is very light
It has been on the market for years, its just that good. No flashy packaging or expensive commercials, it doesnt need it!!!!!!!!11 Simply amazing and priced right
I like putting vick's vaporub on my nose when I am congested and it works great. It really helps. As a child my mom always rubbed this on me and I always remember waking up feeling so much better.
I usually drop some in a boiling hot bowl of water and place my head over the bowl with a cloth or towel. (ok, I lie, my mom usually prepares it). Anyway, I find steaming with this really helps to clear my head and chest when I am congested or my sinuses start to act up. Rubbing it directly on by back or chest or throat (essentially where there's an issue) works perfectly fine too, but the steaming brings out the effectiveness even more.
It's that time of year, coughs and colds. I use vick's in the traditional on the chest and neck for the congestion but if you have a bad cough as well I recommend putting it on your feet at bed time. Apply the vick's to your feet and put on a pair of socks. This is great for the little ones because the vapors still reach their nose but the heat of the vick's is not on the tender skin on their chest or neck.
Vicks VapoRub has been a staple in our medicine cabinet since I was a child. Mom used it on us, I used it on my son and now I've discovered yet another use for it. Besides using it for chest colds, I am finding it to be a Godsend whenever I get menopause related headaches. A quick dab of Vicks on my temples and within 1/2 hour to an hour I am symptom free! I think it has something to do with the heat warming up the blood vessels or maybe it's just that sense of security and relief that comes from the smell of Vicks. Either way, I'd highly recommend it to any woman out there suffering from cycle related headaches!
