Energy boost occurred for me!
In my mind, this is definitely preferable over the powder form that they also sell, but it all depends on if you can swallow capsules or not. I don't really love the taste or smell of Maca, so this method of taking is a lot more palpable to me. Maca claims to have a lot of health benefits, but it's really up to the individual person if they believe or choose to take a supplement (claims of which often aren't tested scientifically), but I will say that after around three weeks use, I noticed I had more energy.
I didn't have any stomach upset, but have been taking it with a meal as directed. It's important to talk to your doctor before taking any supplements as sometimes you shouldn't take these depending on certain health conditions or even medicines you might be taking. If you're too nervous to ask your doctor, at least call a nurse service or ask a pharmacist.
Two of the big selling points for Viva Maca is the fact it's 'gelatinized'. Apparently, uncooked Maca is not really great, so it's important to see that they understand how to prepare it. The other is vegetarian capsules. I didn't find the capsules to be overly large, certainly larger than a doctor's capsule, but when you're taking 500mg it's a pretty large amount. It's nothing compared to some of the horse pills I've seen, so unless you particularly struggle with swallowing pills, you should be fine.
