Harry Potter is a favorite

A few weeks ago I received this free from Spinmaster Toys and #familyratedclub #butterly in exchange for an honest review. I was surprised to see such detail in the characters and found that they were really well made. We tried to bend the arms and legs in ways that would simulate some rough play and they held up pretty good. ( they didn't break) there's a LOT of small pieces. So the age warning is definitely needed, I would say children should be older than 6 or very closely watched to play with the small pieces.
Play value is so-so, for a child with great imagination this can be great and they can make up more stories to play with Harry and Hermione but I wish that they had included Ron too. The unimaginative child wold likely reenact the scenes from the movies on the train, and there's nothing wrong with that. I'd definitely want to have the castle set as well if I were seriously interested in the toy line. I just wouldn't have gone out to buy this set alone. Overall I'd give it a very good rating, but it could have been excellent with a little more included. Thanks for the opportunity to review this.

Imagination toy

My 8-year-old son loves this toy. It's great for using his imagination, he's made up stores or just played like the movies.
I wish I had Ron and lights and sounds.

All Aboard the Hogwarts Express

The kids really enjoyed this Hogwarts Express Train Toy Playset, especially the little frogs which they would attach to various areas of the train. Of course they also loved having Hermione and Harry, and their pets, Hedwig and Crookshanks. The Hermione and Harry characters had moving arms, legs and heads making for lots of interactive play.
I, as a parent, would have liked to see some parts of the train be a little sturdier for longevity of the toy, but the children are satisfied!

Great toy!

Received this as a free product to test. I gave it to my 8 yr old granddaughter and she was excited to rip into it! But we carefully opened it up so as to not lose any parts. There are lots of tiny pieces (frogs, cat, luggage, owl and food). The first thing my granddaughter said was that the wheels don’t really turn so that was a little disappointing. Also Harry’s luggage doesn’t fit in the bottom of the little trolley cart, even though she knows that the cart is for food. She said it would be great also if there was a removable canopy or something so she could keep all the small parts inside without fear of losing them. It’s been about 2 hours now and she’s still quietly playing with it. Overall her opinion is that “it’s good, but not awesome”. My personal opinion is that it would be a great collector item for Harry Potter fans to put in a display of some kind

Wizardly Wonderful

As a parent I would have liked to see a space possibly in the bottom of the train to place all the small toys. There is only the trunk for the chocolate frogs. The chances of all these peices staying together for long is slim to none.

It is compact so easy to store and take out to play with easy. It has alot of detailed parts which helps with imagination for the kids and is great as a gift.

Children can play alone or together.

The attachable frogs are a great idea but would be neater if they stuck to anything.

The quality is ok, it just seems not as high quality as I would like.

I cannot compare your bang for your buck as I could only find this toy available for sale in the UK and the conversion rate would be 54.99 canadian and I think that would be too much for that toy here in Canada.

Overall its a fun and great product and I would recommend to purchase this item.

Very cute set!

The set is very cute and child-like. The plastic feels very cheap, however, and I feel like it would break fairly easily when being played with, or if it was dropped. It looks like a lot of fun though, and I wish stuff like this existed back when I was a kid!
