A staple in every Jamaican household. Home and abroad. for some reason this rum brings back nostalgic memories of being a young child in rural Jamaica. I wasn't drinking it but it was often used in medicines and other home remedies and recipes. My grandma uses it to make Christmas black cake. This rum has a strong flavor but it is a very powerful, bold and smooth flavor wrapped up all in one.

This is an awesome rum for making large quantities of mixed drinks with, especially if you are mixing a large batch at once. It is a much better value to mix with a smaller quantity of this overproof rum than with a larger amount of a regular rum.

It is 63% alcohol though, so it is definitely not for drinking straight or heavy handed drinks. As such, you must be very careful with it, and I would definitely not leave it unattended where teens may find or take it, as they may not understand how dangerous it could be.

That also means it does not have the most pleasant taste on its own, but if you are mixing properly, and looking for an alcohol that will blend in well and not stand out too much from your mixed drink, this is a good choice. I did actually taste it prior to mixing with anything because I really do love rum, and it did not have a bad taste, it's just very strong!
