My son is addicted to the Xbox 360, and he plays it a lot. I like the fact that my son can play online with live people, and has developed some great friendships from it.As far as I know It is currently the only online gaming service on consoles that charges users a fee to play multiplayer gaming. It is a little bit pricy, buying the games, then purchasing the additional cards needed to play online. But the way I look at it as a mom, is I know where my child is, and it's a great social atmosphere. We are in 2012, and electronics are and will be the future. Thanks Xbox 360, great gaming options.
I bought the XBOX 360 for my husband in 2008. It has great games for both kids and adults. The only thing I would like to see is more 2-player games available for this system. We bought Skylanders, but that seems to be the only multiplayer game I have found so far.
I bought one of these for my husband a few years ago. He's used it practically every single night with few exceptions. In fact, he plays with it so often that we sold the WII since it shelved after the xbox entered the house and was no longer being used.
We bought a kinect for it, and the kids love to play the games with the kinect. even I enjoy playing the games sometimes, they're extremely fun!
The xbox is a gaming system that will get worn out from being used so often, and will be replaced with another xbox. Hubby is a hardcore fan.
I bought this so that I could try out the Kinect, which I love!! it is a lot of fun.
However, my prefered gaming system is still the PS3. The major thing that I do not like about the Xbox and is one of the major reasons that its not my favourite is that you have to pay to play online while with the PS3 you don't.
If you are looking to try out the Kinect then definitely get this system! But if you are just looking for regular gaming then I personally would suggest the PS3.
I do not have an xbox yet however I have played them many of times. I love it! I cant wait until i have a bigger place so i have a place to put it!! So much fun!!!
Just purchased this console on Boxing day for my boyfriend and I since it was on sale for $99.00 at Walmart!! I really havent played much in the gaming department since I think Nintendo 64 lol, but I thought it'd be fun for us and an alternative to just watching tv most evenings. I really have no complaints as of yet! I also bought a few games, my favourite is the Nascar racing and my bf already completed the James Bond: Blood Stone in just a few days! I cant wait to buy the Kinect to go with it so I can do some exercising and let the kids join in with some of the Kid appropriate games out there!! I also love that Xbox 360 can be used to watch Netflix! We just ordered it and its been great so far!!
This console is for everyone. It has all sorts of games, and for the times you want to kick back with a movie, you can do that too! I've actually gotten Kinect with my Xbox and can you say ah-may-zing? The technology behind this little thing is stunning and unheard of just a few years back! It takes the controller-less feature of the Wii up a few notches and makes for true controller free gaming experience.
If anyone is looking to upgrade their console, I would highly recommend this product.
I've had experienced with a few different versions of the Xbox 360 and I have to say that they all have been positive, even if the available game titles have not blown me away. It's really difficult to sum up such a complex piece of technology in a short review. You can purchase games from retailers or download free or commercial (after loading money onto your account) from the console directly if you have it hooked up to the Internet. Older 360s require a wireless adapter but the newest model is compatible with wired and wireless networks. The include controller(s) are also wireless and run on batteries but you can purchased wired controllers, too (I purchased a third-party controller that lights up!). PLayers access everything from their Xbox dashboard and have the ability to creatie a representative avatar, fill out profile information and update their statues. Xbox 360 includes support for Twitter, MSN Messenger and Facebook connectivity as well as offering integration with the user's media (via Windows Media Center) and Zune player. Netflix users can connect their account with a gold Xbox Live subscription to stream movies on their TV. Xbox also offers paid content, including movies and television shows ans free content such as trailers and game trials. Obviously, the strength of the Xbox Live is Internet-based, even if the user only has the free, silver Live subscription. I've played only a handful of games on it and, have to admit, the titles seem to be more RPG, Adventure and FPS-based than I am usually interested in but the usability makes it a strong contender despite the fact.
As a female gamer.. i have to say that i got my hook on this thingy right here when i was introduced to a game called HALO...i found the system to be easy to navigate thru. There were many cool things that this mean machine can do to entertain a person!
There's a online communtiy where u can play games vs another player straight across the world if that's were they be..i like that u have a communtiy of millions who come together to battle it out on online games for example modern warfare2 is a kickass game to play online right now..u can even get a mic and interact if u will, with the other players. its cool to have live action and to feel and inpact from an attack from a player say if u wear playin a shotin game...via the remote control..it vibrates when ur opponent shoots u or u get hit..that's cool ...!!!
There are new features u can now access FACEBOOK and twitter now, as long as u have a gold membership...which is an one year online membership via internet...u can copy music and pics to ur system..even rent movies too ..they even have game updates and a place u can check out demos of new games coming up or even buy an old games as long as u have microsoft live points, which u can pick up anywhere were they sell electronics...like walmart and etc. Its even can be connected to ur window media center...
There are different memory compacties for this system ranging from the lowest being called the Xbox arcade, then the Xboxe elite which i believe hold 120 GB, and the XBOX 250GB elite... All i knw is that i couldn't live without my XBOX 360 it would be boring there's so much stuff u can do and its worth every penny...
Just because you're female doesn't mean you can't be a hardcore video game person because I am! I wanted a system that could compliment the Wii's family friendly Wiimote based titles and traditional Nintendo games. This was the system that did it.
First of all the Xbox 360 has a plethora of games in multiple genres for everyone to enjoy. While I mostly play rpgs and action/adventure titles on it there's many titles. You have casual titles like Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Splosion Man, action/adventures(Kameo: Elements of Power, Ninja Gaiden II, etc.), rpgs(Infinite Undiscovery, Fable II, Final Fantasy 13, etc.), survival horror(Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill: Homecoming, etc.), and of course the FPSs(Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, etc.). Anyone that likes to play video games should be able to find something that they like to play. This was one of my complaints with the original Xbox, it focused too heavily on shooters and left the rest of us out.
The other big feature of Xbox 360 is the online community. You need to buy a Xbox Live Gold membership card for most of the online capabilities. A small fee compared to what you're getting. What are you getting? Full access to dozens of game demos for released and future titles(including 100% game titles that the average Joe made only available online). If you have a title that has online modes or is entirely multiplayer, then you'll be able to play online with the Gold status. There's even Netflix and Facebook built-in applications where you can stream movies with your Netflix account or browse Facebook and chat with friends. I really like the fact that you can create an avatar that represents you in a virtual world for your other buddies/friends to share(kinda like the Wii :P). And parental controls will help with your children for their online activities, though nothing beats real life supervision! Or you can just pop in a DVD and watch it. Really something for everyone here.
One thing to remember is to have a TV that's either HD(high definition) compatible or SD(standard definition) with component inputs. Technology has advanced and neither the 360 nor PS3(Playstation 3) will work on many of the pre-HD era televisions. The 360 has other features but I think this is a good review for the basics. I hope you liked the review!
