Too clumpy and flaky

I'm always excited to try mascaras and other products, but unfortunately this one missed the mark for me.

I'll start off with the positives. I did find it provided great length and volume! I did test the waterproof claim and it was great. There was absolutely no product on my tissue after wetting my eyes and wiping. It's also definitely buildable if people want more layering. I did also find that it wasn't difficult to remove with eye makeup remover.

The negatives - unfortunately I found it quite clumpy! I do have long lashes to start with and sometimes have trouble getting to the base of my lashes, but after only a couple swipes through, my lashes were pretty stuck together. And the product looked kind of clumpy on the lash, with some fallout. I tried again with only 1-2 swipes with the brush, and this was much better, but still somewhat clumpy. I did try using a spooly brush to unclump but it seemed the product became pretty rigid and wouldn't separate easily.

Splurge Worthy

This mascara is definitely worth splurging on but before we get into the whys let me start off with the how’s. I found that in order to get the maximum out of this formula you have to remove the excess off before applying because it can get a little gunky or messy with the big wand. I like the size of the applicator because it gets all of your lashes with even strokes. I was able to achieve a lot of length and volume with one application before going back into the bottle. It’s a not too wet formula that dries down fast. I’m obsessed with the drama it gives my lashes and they look so full, long and defined. It’s absolutely buildable to create more intensity. It’s very pigmented and bold. I first tried this on a rainy day and I can say that it stands by its waterproof claims. I managed to wear a full day of makeup without getting the raccoon, smudged look on my under eyes. There was a little transfer but I’m still impressed compared to other mascaras and I think that could be resolved with setting my under eyes better.

Now, I’m not afraid of the bright sun from which I always cry 👍 Mascara stays on the eyelashes all day and does not fall off.

Mascara let down :(

Thanks to butterfly I got to try this YSL lashclash mascara for free. I was so excited to try out this luxury mascara but sadly was disappointed. I found it needed a lot of layers to have a visible affect. I also appreciate a waterproof mascara but this one was very hard to wash off!

Didn’t work well at all

This wasn’t my fave product. Left my lashes clumpy. I’m choosing not to share it on my social as I don’t want to offend you guys, but the formula is clumpy and sticky. Does not last and flakes right off

Luxurious!

Yves Saint Laurent Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara is waterproof, heat proof, buildable, and lasts for 48 hours of wear. It has a nice thick brush that glides easily. I found it very easy to apply. This mascara is nice and dark, and didn't clump when I added multiple layers on top of each other. It made my lashes very plump and healthy looking. I would recommend this mascara! Super Volumizing!

This is a very pretty and expensive mascara but does it justify the price? I’m not sure. This YSL Lash Clash mascara claims to be volumizing, waterproof, smudge proof, heat & humidity proof. It has an almost oversized brush which is great for adding volume and drama but caused me to mess up my makeup a few times. It’s not very lengthening and for my preference it’s too clumpy. The bristles weren’t good at separating the lashes. Although it stayed put the entire time without smudging or bleeding.

YSL Lashclash Waterproof mascara is super volumizing and and it HOLDS! My lashes usually don’t hold the curl and fall down but this time they stayed up all night (and through tears). And for those who sleep in their makeup, it holds up to 48 hours. The mascara does have a sticky feeling to it when it's on my lashes, but as long as I don't rub my eyes they don't stick together.

Love this mascara! So lengthening, lasts all day with no flaking.
My daughter has been stealing it and using it too. We are both big fans. Highly recommend
