Waterproof, but not volumizing

I had the privilege to try this mascara from @yslbeauty for free and I'm reviewing from the perspective of someone who only applies one layer.

First the packaging. Visually it's simple and classic, I just don't think the blue color works well in this case. There isn't enough contrast to compliment the majority of the black tube, but that is so minor. There is a subtle 'click' when closing it so you know you don't have to over tighten it, plus it's super satisfying.

The wand I'm not a fan of, but that's a personal preference. To me it's too large and chunky, especially when I'm applying something close to my eye and on thin hair fibres. I also have small hands so that doesn't help me either.

Onto the product itself. As stated, I only wear one coat of mascara as a preference. It applied well enough, but immediately started to clump, which is I really am not a fan of. I know you can comb the clumps out, but then your combing product out and seems like a waste. My eyelashes looked okay, nothing spectacular, so I continued on with my day.

First thing I noticed was it didn't feel heavy like some mascaras do, AND most importantly, it didn't irritate my eyes, which most makeup does in minutes (tired, dry, itchy)

At the end of the day, I hoped in the shower and made sure not to use soap on my eyes and just let the hot water run down my face. It claims it's waterproof so I'm going to check that. The result was my eyelashes were back to their lack-of-curly beginnings, but the mascara was still on...mostly. I had a bit of flakes under my eyes, but that would have come from me rubbing my eyes in the shower. What DIDN'T happen was I didn't look like I was impersonating Alice Cooper with mascara running down my cheeks.

Needles to say, this is waterproof, just like it claims! It survived my vicious rubbing under water, definitely a winner!

Really good waterproof mascara

I received this @yslbeauty Lashclash waterproof mascara free from @thisisbutterly in exchange for my review.

I’m usually not a huge fan of waterproof mascaras as I find they’re usually not great for lengthening or separating and those are the two qualities I want in a mascara. But this one does a good job of both!

It makes my lashes look pretty, doesn’t flake or smudge, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and is easy to remove with a cleansing balm. I hate when waterproof mascaras are hard to remove.

Overall, I quite like this and I’m happy I received it. I wouldn’t buy it though as it’s too pricy for me and also not cruelty free.

Not going anywhere

YSL Lash clash waterproof mascara will last all day. It’s a fantastic waterproof mascara. I hadn’t used a waterproof mascara in a long while, and after trying this one out, I remember why I stopped. It is so hard to get off. My eyes are old and I do not need to spend 5 minutes each night aggressively rubbing at them to remove my mascara.
It is fabulous though, don’t get me wrong. My lashes looked gorgeous. I did notice flaking if I put on two coats, but less so with only one coat.
I would recommend for fans of waterproof mascara, but it’s not for me.

Brand name staple

I love this mascara, it's a clean application that I would only build upon once to get the fullness and separation that I want without being goopy. I wore this mascara during an eye exam and it endured multiple eye drops, tears and tissue rubs; this mascara did not move.

Clump free mascara

I usually have issues with how clumpy mascaras can be, I didn’t have that issue with this mascara at all. I also love that it’s waterproof, since I’m a big crier, this will be perfect for the next wedding I attend!

Great waterproof mascara!

It's a great waterproof mascara to use. However, the formula is pretty thick so I would use 1-2 layers max. It stays on all day and it's easy to get off with makeup remover oil. The packaging feels luxurious and weights well when handled. The wand is a bit big, but can get all lashes.

Want gorgeous lashes?

This mascara is easy to use, and makes your lashes look amazing! Being from YSL, it is exactly what you would expect. I expect drama and lashes and that’s what I got. While it does claim to last 48 hours, I did notice some flaking after a few hours. Even with the flaking, it was hard to get off when it was time for bed. Would I purchase it again? Yes.

Stays put!

Overall I liked this mascara. I found it did have a few small clumps when applying, but brushed out okay. It definitely is waterproof! I wore it to a nordic spa and even after the steam room, it didn't move from my lashes.

Amazing YSL lash clash mascara !!

Thank you so much YSL for sending me this amazing waterproof lash clash mascara to review ! I was a little nervous with it being waterproof as I haven’t had great success with waterproof mascara but omg this YSL lash clash mascara did not let me down !! It’s very lightweight and didn’t drop my lash shape and kept it intact all day long ! It’s extremely black!! I’m in shock how much I loved this mascara and would highly recommend to others !!

P.s I forgot to take my makeup off from a late night and the next morning my lashes still looked amazing !! 😍 thank you once again for creating such a masterpiece!!

The length!

My eyelashes are long and I like to highlight this feature so mascara is the one thing I always wear. This mascara could have had a little more volume as I love when my lashes are more curled. I used my lash curler when I used it again and it definitely looked more like the look I try to achieve. It lasted all day though without my lashes falling which is important! The first time I used it there was no clumping but after that I did have some but it was easy to separate the lashes. We went for walks in the heavy snow fall and there was no running, so it’s definitely waterproof. I don’t usually buy waterproof though because I wash my face with water at night and obviously that doesn’t work to take it off. Overall though, I really enjoyed this mascara and would definitely recommend. Thanks to butterly & YSL beauty for the chance to test in exchange for my honest review.
