Super basic mascara

Tries this mascara for multiple days and wasn't thrilled with how it looked on my lashes. When applying the mascara it had a stronger scent that was unpleasant (think tar). Then once it was on my lashes it did not offer much for length or volume. Sadly I would not purchase this product in the future.

Not my favourite

This mascara did nothing for my eyelashes. I had to put on several coats for it to even look like I had mascara on. It didn’t add any volume or length. I used micellar water to try and remove it (that usually works on all my mascaras), but it was impossible to remove! Their waterproof claim is legit, but without a specific eye makeup remover, this will be like glue to your lashes!

Too clumpy and flaky

I'm always excited to try mascaras and other products, but unfortunately this one missed the mark for me.

I'll start off with the positives. I did find it provided great length and volume! I did test the waterproof claim and it was great. There was absolutely no product on my tissue after wetting my eyes and wiping. It's also definitely buildable if people want more layering. I did also find that it wasn't difficult to remove with eye makeup remover.

The negatives - unfortunately I found it quite clumpy! I do have long lashes to start with and sometimes have trouble getting to the base of my lashes, but after only a couple swipes through, my lashes were pretty stuck together. And the product looked kind of clumpy on the lash, with some fallout. I tried again with only 1-2 swipes with the brush, and this was much better, but still somewhat clumpy. I did try using a spooly brush to unclump but it seemed the product became pretty rigid and wouldn't separate easily.

Mascara let down :(

Thanks to butterfly I got to try this YSL lashclash mascara for free. I was so excited to try out this luxury mascara but sadly was disappointed. I found it needed a lot of layers to have a visible affect. I also appreciate a waterproof mascara but this one was very hard to wash off!

Didn’t work well at all

This wasn’t my fave product. Left my lashes clumpy. I’m choosing not to share it on my social as I don’t want to offend you guys, but the formula is clumpy and sticky. Does not last and flakes right off

Pretty packaging, dry formula

I wanted to love this so bad. I have used many YSL products in the past and was quite fond of them. This product was not great for me. I love the look of the packaging, and I do quite like the bristles on the wand, but it was the formula that didn’t work out for me. I applied and applied, and the product just is kindof dry but goopy at the same time, it bulks up around the root but no product builds up towards the end of my lashes. I have to use a dry spoolie or another mascara to work the product out to the ends of my lashes. The staying power of the mascara was great, but removing it was also a nightmare. I understand that waterproof formulas need to be able to withstand a bit of moisture but I tried heavy duty cleansing balls and oil based removers and still struggled and lost quite a few lashes in the process so I stopped using it before I had none left .Gave 2 stars for the packaging and the wand shape .

Too thick for my liking

This mascara is definitely volumizing, but not in a good way. The thick formula really weighs down my lashes and causes them to droop throughout the day. I had to use my lash comb to help de-clump and better disperse the product.

It's definitely waterproof, though!

Not extreme, Zero volume

YSL's new Lashclash Extreme Volume mascara does not live up to its name! I've read a lot of positive reviews for this, but my experience wasn't great. It did not perform nearly as well as other inexpensive drugstore mascaras in my collection: it barely deposited any mascara onto my lashes. I'm wondering if I received a defective product, or if it's just not a match for my lashes.

Stinky & Flaky

When I was chosen by Butterly and YSL to review mascara for free, I was excited to be chosen for this product. Now I am just happy I didn't put my own money down the drain. My first reaction in receiving this product was that the bottle was fancy and it must be a higher than drug store quality (and price tag). Upon opening my product to review the smell was overwhelming, then the brush pulled at my eyelashes and hurt, then the kicker once I finally got that stuff off was it was flaky. For days after wearing it I flaked. Not good for a contact wearer. Eyes were watery and uncomfortable. No. I wanted to like this product and I am grateful to have been chosen to try it in exchange for my honest review. But no. I do not recommend it.

High expectations

I was really looking forward to a luxury brand mascara but this fell completely flat for me. The packaging was the only thing that left substantially different. Nothing new about the applicator. Minimal volume and length- and my eyelashes really take to mascara so I I was disappointed. With the price point and lack of any good results this is a pass for me.
