Wished it had more pigmentation
I loved the shade but it doesn’t look great on my Asian skin tone. Wished it had more pigmentation for my skin. May be look best on fair skinned people.
Pretty shade and great formula
A pink blush toned nude. Layering will get you close to a ballet pink, though there are hints of peach in it. Flatters most if not all skin tones.
It applies like a traditional lippie, and has a lip oil finish. You get the durability and shine without having to mess with an applicator, which I find is easier on the go and for reapplication. The color starts as semi-sheer and is buildable.
Very pretty as a cool pink option.
A lovely lipstick to replace your lip balm
The lipsticks I received came in fully recyclable cardboard boxes, while the tubes themselves seem to be completely made of plastic (can we bring back metallic lipstick tubes and just purchase the inside piece, please?) YSL does packaging really well; I have really enjoyed whipping these babies out. I feel like the ultimate glam gal and loving the feeling. The lipstick’s texture is borderline lip balm texture, and I’m totally here for it. It smells divine—like a juicy cold nectarine you’ve just bitten into (can you tell I am very eager for summer?) It hydrates amazingly well; I haven’t had to reach for my lip balm at all a single time this week. And I don’t get that weird taste at the back of my throat that I get with some lipsticks, thankfully. Goodness, I hate that taste so much.
Both colors I received from Butterly were close to my natural lip color. The Nude Lingerie gave my lips a pinkish hue, while the Nude Lavallière turned them a little darker, with both adding a lovely shine to my lips. I didn’t find it was particularly buildable, but I don’t think the colors that I received were different enough from my natural lip color that I would notice buildability. I am planning on trying out a bolder color at Sephora next time I go there. The shine does transfer off easily when I’m eating or drinking, but it only gives me an excuse to whip out the pretty tube of lipstick again, so I’m ok with that.
Now the thing is that the price point of this lipstick is quite high – at CA$61.00 at Sephora. It’s a lovely splurge item, especially if you want to have a little bit of glamour to carry around on a daily basis. I’m curious to know more about the other colors, and intrigued to see if it’ll keep my lips hydrated through a Canadian winter. I am considering not just doing a six-month check-in, but also a one-year check-in to test this lipstick through winter.

Sparkle and Shine
This lipstick is so great. The container is stunning. It goes on light and feels like a gloss more than a lipstick. It's not sticky or dry. Provides moisture and shine! Has a a subtle sparkle to it as well! This colour has a slightly more orange undertone, so its best for people who prefer warmer colors.
The perfect sheer pink
I’m obsessed with this sheer pink with a hint of shimmer. Glides on so nice and I love how it has a little shimmer to make a natural pink lip a little bit nicer looking. This is my absolute go-to lip for summer.
Perfect for spring and summer
This is a beautiful warm peachy pink shade, and it has a matching peachy scent! It goes on smooth and is buildable if you want more colour to pop. I find them perfect for the warmer weather when I want a natural look with a little shimmer.
Gloss and color
I love the packaging of this Loveshine lipstick, very fancy and high quality. Easy to apply, not sticky, shiny with a pop of color. I found it to be very moisturizing on my lips and didn't leave a sticky texture.
Hydrating formula
Love the glossy, moisturizing formula. Keeps your lips soft and plump for a long time. Although this specific shade will only work on fair and light skin tones.
44: Super hydrating and shiny
Obsessed with this lipstick that offers all the shine and hydration of a lip oil.
What I LIKE 💗:
Hydrating
Shiny dewy finish
Non sticky
Very lightweight on lips for a lip oil (I forget it’s on my lips)
Buildable formula
Great shade range
Also I wore it everyday for the last week and my lips felt always so soft and hydrated with just a single application in the morning. So the shine and colour might not stay put but formula continues to keep the lips hydrated for a long time.
What I DON’T LIKE👎: Honestly, as a brown skin girlie, this shade kind of washed me off a little. I would also like to mention that it doesn’t have a great staying power like a lipstick. But it definitely stays longer than a lip oil would.
