Great moisturizing lipstick

This YSL loveshine lipstick in shade 44 has the most luxurious packaging I've experienced and intensely hydrates your lips, making it the perfect base or top coat for any lip look. As someone with a medium skin tone, this peachy tone looks great! However, the colour payoff is quite minimal. I plan on using this in my daily routine to hydrate my lips throughout the day and add a bit of shimmer to my routine!

How lucky am I to be selected to test out these shades from their LOVESHINE lipstick collection?!! In exchange for my honest review of the products I agreed to post this review. I wasn’t sure if I wasn’t applying the lipstick correctly or if it just wasn’t for my complexion but I felt like the consistency was too light. My lips didn’t feel as hydrated as with their other lipsticks. The sheer was really light and I think I was expecting more of a Lip stain which might make my view bias based on expecting a heavier application.

It is actually an okay product though. It has gorgeous packaging and great shade / hues for all occasions.

YSL LOVESHINE shades • Vacay Essentials

I adore YSL! I was super excited to be selected to test out these shades from their LOVESHINE lipstick collection in exchange for my honest review of the products. I wasn’t sure if I wasn’t applying the lipstick correctly or if it just wasn’t for my complexion but I felt like the consistency was too light. Overall an okay product though. It has gorgeous packaging and great shade / hues for all occasions. Mild enough for everyday wear.

Tad too light

This formula is lovely! It basically just feels like a lip balm. It’s super hydrating and feels very light on the lips. This is the kind of formula I prefer for work since I tend to get more dehydrated while working due to forgetting to drink water. 44 is an opaque lighter pink shade. Because this shade is opaque, I would suggest making sure your lips are moisturized for this because it can catch on dry patches. This shade leans a bit close to being too light on its own without a lip liner for me.

More of a light gloss than a lipstick

This product unfortunately fell short of my expectations. Overall, I would not purchase it for myself or recommend it.

THE GOOD
The packaging, as always, was fabulous. The high gloss gold box, and the sturdy, metal tube with the emboss detailing fed into my excitement. When I opened the product, the colour was beautiful! The #44 was a muted dusty rose which was right in line with my usual everyday nude. Even though it's a lipstick, I could tell by just looking at it, that it was going to be hydrating - and it was!

THE BAD
The product was scented. I generally shy away from scented cosmetics in general. I don't like smelling things on my face. It has a strong 'berry' or 'juice' smell to it which immediately put me off. It wasn't a bad smell, it just was not up my alley and was reminiscent of what a pre-teen may gravitate toward. I knew that I wouldn't have been able to wear it for long because the scent was already agitating what sometimes triggers migraine. Note - despite the scent it does not have a flavour. Nonetheless was excited to see what the shade looked like on my lips. When I applied the product it went on smooth, but I couldn't really see any part of the pigment on my lips. It took multiple applications to build noticeable colour. When I did get that bit of colour payoff, it did not look like the product in the tube. Worse, it had a white cast. This might work well for lighter skin tones, but is a red flag for darker skin tones.

Overall, this product fell short for me and I really expected so much more.

Amazing lipstick

These lipsticks are amazing so moisturizing.

Lipstick is good but this shade washed me out
I love the luxurious packaging of these lipsticks. Everything about these just feels high quality. These lipsticks glide on effortlessly and feel more like a lip balm than a lipstick. They are subtle enough for day time use or to add a touch of color and shine on a night out. These lipsticks really do moisturize and feel great on your lips. They also have a soft scent.

The Nude Lavalliere shade is a soft pink nude. That offers the perfect touch of pink and shine.

The lipstick is very hydrating and creates a nice shine but I wish it was a bit more pigmented. It is a semi sheer so the color is quite subtle. . If you are looking for full coverage this is not the product for you. But I do like it for daytime wear on its own or for the moisturizing effect overtop of a lip liner/lipstick.

The formula on these lipsticks are SO creamy, I was thinking they were chapsticks because of it and was impressed by the colour payoff but these are indeed lipsticks and so incredibly glossy!

Sometimes lipsticks like this will feel glossy but dry up quickly but the texture didn't change for me at all, keeping my lips super hydrated.

The two shades I received were:
🔹150 - a warm pink nude
🔹44 - an iconic pink nude

I felt that 150 was better suited to my skin tone and I love that it has little sparkles throughout. 44 was a pretty bubblegum but doesn't work as well for my skin tone.
