I love this product! This is the best concealer and highlighter pen I have ever used. Just a few dabs and it makes me look younger, more luminous and radiant. #8 is the perfect shade for asian skin.
It is on the pricey end but totally worth it - you do not need much to see the difference!
I have heard so many raves about this product yet never tried it. I just didn't want to get sucked into all the hype.
But I'm a believer. I really do like this! I use it as a concealer, AND a highlighter. It covers my undereye woes and also gives me some brightening.
My only problem with this product is the price. I'm not sure I will repurchase this and am actively hunting for something that is equivalent without the hefty price tag. I like the results.....but the $$$ is hard to swallow.
The price tag may be high, but trust me, this magical wand of concealer goodness is worth every single penny! Others have strayed to other brands but find themselves coming back to this cult favourite. For Tan complexions like mine No. 3 (Light Peach) is just pink enough to reduce the ash-iness that we tend get in our under-eye region.
In Canada, this product is priced at $50.00 and is available at Sephora, The Bay, select Shoppers Drug Mart boutqiues, and of course, Holt Renfrew.
I am a little on the fence about this. But if I have some extra cash lying around, this product is a good one to add to my kit. First off, this is not meant to be used as a concealer. This is a highlighter that mainly targets the undereye area, but can also be used to highlight other areas on your face. The colour itself is very light in colour and the consistency is rather running. When you swatch it on your hand, you can see really smooth and refine shimmer thats not chunky at all. I usually use this after my concealer, sometimes after my undereye setting powder. I first started to use my fingers to target the dark areas of my eyes but I found that using the side of a concealer brush, dabbing in the darker ridges is more effective. I find that the body heat from my fingers tend to heat up the products and moves my concealer underneath.
Now here's the con. I'm rather dark, so the color is a tad bight light for me when blended in. The price is also steep. I find that the product, when used right and carefully, works wonders. But it does take patiences and some practice to make it flawless.
Overall. This one tube has lasted me a long time. And I use it quite often. I'll repurchase if I want to treat myself to a little something something.
It's a magic stick - covers all imperfections, no heavy coating, very light and gives you a fresh look instantly!
Price 3/5: This is definitely an expensive product, especially for the tiny amount.
Quality 5/5: The consistency is quite runny, though the brush traps the product so leakage won't occur. Unlike most illuminators, the reflectors in the product are so finely milled that they are impossible to detect. The product is fragrance-free, and hasn't caused any break-outs for me. This product has a minimal pink tone, and despite having yellow toned skin, this works very well for me. (For reference, I am a MAC NC 15 or Revlon 150 Buff, and own the product in shade 2)
Effectiveness 5/5: Firstly, the touche eclat is not a concealer, it's more of a highlighter. Because it's so highly recommended for the undereye area, many automatically think it's meant to conceal dark circles. While it does somewhat cover pigmentation (depending how much you use), it's main purpose is to reflect light, making the user look less tired. I use this on the bridge of my nose, my chin, my undereye area, and the tops of my cheekbones to brighten up my face.
Packaging 3.5/5: The container has a brush applicator with a clicker on the end to dispense the product. While the packaging is hygienic, I find that the clicker an annoying feature. It's hard to get exactly the amount needed since the amount difference between one click and two is a lot. I usually use about a two click amount, but would go for 2.5 if I could. However, the appearance of the container itself it amazing. Classic YSL gold packaging.
Overall, a fantastic product. Expensive, but well worth the price.
It does wonders for the dark circles underneath your eyes. My first reaction was something along the lines of 'WOW!' it made such a difference. It really brightens the eyes, and is easy to use. It is pricy but for the results, it is worth it.
This product is amazing. It is worth every single penny. Easy it day or night to look your best!
Sorry everyone the title should read YSL Touche Eclat
