American Reviews

What is "American cuisine"?  If you're a born-and-bred North American, you won't recognize your favourite chow for the unique cuisine it is.  Think Surf 'n Turf platters, premium burgers, Southern-style fried chicken and BBQ pork ribs for a start.  Serve 'em up with Californian salads, perfectly seasoned home fries, baked potato and corn on the cob, then follow with good ol' apple pie, triple chocolate brownies, and decadent milkshakes.

Hungry yet?  Yeah, let's order in American tonight!

I went to this unique restaurant with some friends for dinner. Its a neat concept, one long table down the middle of the restaurant that is supposed to encourage meeting other diners. The food was tasty, nothing terribly special as far as presentation goes, and portions were...
Cheddars

1 review

Cheddars is located in Newport News, VA, about 30-40 minutes west of Norfolk on I64. It is near Patrick Henry Mall. The variety of food and portion/price ratio is what attracts me to Cheddars so much. There is something here for everyone to enjoy. My favorite is the Chicken Pot...

Oh who do i even go back there?..oh yes it's the kids!!! Eachtime i go, the service is always crappy, they usually mix-up orders, the tables are dirty and kids screming everywhere (including mine). If it wasnt for making my kids happy i would never even imagine torturing...
The Sample Room

The chef at The Sample Room in Minneapolis knows what to do with a scallop. The Sample Room has both small plates and larger dishes. While they are, in my opinion, a bit expensive, the food is definitely above average. My favorite is the scallop with sun-dried tomato pesto...

When I visit Daytona I always stop here for at least one meal. The girls are friendly and the pulled pork sandwiches are a delicious treat.
Pappdeaux's Seafood Kitchen

Food is great if you like spicy, though the friend seafood is good, I wouldn't pay the price on it. Everything else is well worth it.

Never busy when I go. Staff are nice and friendly. Some of the food is great, very few times bland. Some of the portions is right, some dishes the portions is just way too small, considering the price you pay, should be more food on the plate. Drinks are a hit or miss...
Ed Debevic's

Ha, ok so the thing with this restaurant is that the waiters are supposed to be mean to you and sarcastic, and you're supposed to be mean back. It's a blast, and every hour or so they break out in song and dance--it's great! It's a really great place to bring...
Max and Erma's

Very good american food. Sometimes has a magician that performs at individual tables. It has a sunday bar that my kids love. A nice family restaurant.
Max & Erma's Resturant

Max & Erma's is a craving now, not just a place to eat. Their tortilla soup could have the ability to cure the common cold (it always makes me feel a little better.) Fresh baked cookies while you eat... yum!

I've been to this restaurant a number of times but realised I've never actually rated it! The restaurant is located in Toronto's Bloor West Village. It's a small restaurant, with a very cozy atmosphere and best of all the food is fantastic. I would say the food is basically...
Fran's Restaurant

The decor is cheesy with antlers everywhere, the portions are massive, but it is cheap and good! Each entre is big enough to share with two people. I had one order of halibut and one of ribs, shared between 4 people and we were all stuffed. The halibut was especially...
Turtle Jack's Muskoka Grill

1 review

I had the recent pleasure of eating at Turtle Jack's and have to say that the food was so much more delicious than I expected. I had been told by a friend that this place was similar to a Jack Astor's and I have to say that friend was only partially correct. I found that that...
Dick's Drive-In & Dairy-Dip

Everytime I've gone to Dick's, there has been no problem getting a table, even though there is a steady stream of customers. The food is great tasting and reasonably priced, and the onion rings are the best in town. Ice Cream wise..I had a kids cone, and it was HUGE. I...
Johnny Rockets

1 review

This is for the Johnny Rockets that they added downtown across from Dundas Square. So one day a few friends and I from Ryerson went to this place to eat for lunch. The menu was so dull, the selection was french fries, chili dog, shakes, burgers (which I can easily make at home)...
Booker's BBQ Grill & Crab Shack

1 review

A friend of mine took me to Booker's BBQ Gill & Crab Shack when I was recently visiting her in Calgary and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. This place has the equivalent atmosphere of a Toronto Jack Astor's but the menu is a little different. They have phenomenal ribs but...

Nice open venue, pretty decor, LOVE the glass lounge section up front (perfect for people watching in one of the most busiest intersections in the world)! Service was a bit slow and they squeezed our group of 6 into a small booth (even though we made reservations weeks in...
