Italian Reviews

Everyone has their 'favourite little Italian place', their date night go-to or parking spot for lovelorn carb-aholic therapy.  Whether our love affair's with authentic Italian food or the pseudo-Italian Americanized fare we prefer, the blend of fresh housemade pastas and pizzas, cheese, garlic and great wine is a recipe for a sizzling night out or a satisfying night in.  Pair that with a great patio and we'll throw all those silly New Year's resolutions out the window right here and now.

Cafe Trattoria Pane E Vino

Pane et Vino has the perfect el dente pasta. They are open only for lunch and offer a small but delicious selection of specialty Italian cuisine. I ordered the Pene Pomodoro and my husband had the pasta bolognese. Both tasted homemade and authentic. The sauces were nice...
7 Numbers - 307 Danforth Avenue

Ah~ The infamous 7 numbers. I had heard so many mixed things about this place that I wasn't sure what to expect. From the decor to its staff and the cooking, the toronto crowd seems to have split in opposite directions. It seems like either you love it or hate it. The...
Fusilli Ristorante

This little Italian gem of a restaurant is located on 531Queen East, just west of River. The atmosphere was really romantic and sweet (dim flattering lighting, Italian 'christmas' music, a chalkboard of wine suggestions, soft banquet on one side, and less than a dozen tables in...

The chicken tetrazini is absolutely fantastic! Great drink menu and bartenders (mojitos here are delish!) excellent atmosphere, over the top service. I would definitely recommend this for a semi-casual night out! I have never been disappointed!!!
Fratelli

I went there with a couple of friends for dinner one evening. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the waiters were friendly. We found the service a little slow but perhaps it was because the place was completely packed. I ordered a bruschetta for the appetitizer and...

Love this restaurant! We came here for aps and drinks today to sit on the patio. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious! We just wanted a snack so we split the Annalisa pizza (Italian sausage, tomatoes, fresh basil, goat cheese) and each had a drink. We loved...

Another great Montreal hot spot. We came her for dessert one night and to enjoy some live music. It has a very hip and classy feel, even though it is fairly small. Right on Ste-Catherine's you can't miss this great lounge/cocktail bar. The desserts and drinks are amazing and...
Pellegrino's of Little Italy

1 review

Located in the heart of Little Italy, Pellegrino's is a very charming Italian restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. The pasta is made fresh in house and there is a very nice selection to choose from. My husband had the pasta special, which was lobster ravioli...

I love this place! The food is amazing and I really enjoyed the overall ambiance of the restaurant. In a romantic-type setting, you get great food and great drinks (I recommend the Tahiti Treat unless you don't like anything too sweet). When I go again though, I will be sure...
Ristorante Giorgio

After walking around Old Montreal for awhile, we eventually stumbled upon this place (mostly by accident). The service was a little slow, even after the place started to die down, but the food was amazing and very filling. It's a nice 'adult' restaurant, but still can be...

I agree. Delicious Italian food. I love the pizzas so much I've never ordered anything else. It's a great location too on Corydon. This is the best place to hang out in the summer. Make sure you try Nucci's Gelati too a few doors down. Best gelato in Winnipeg!
Vesuvio Pizzeria & Spaghetti House

Amazing Italian food in the West end of the city. It's not all that accessibly by Subway (about a 15 minute walk from the station) but there is lots of parking around it. You can either order in, take out or go to the actual dining room. They've won many awards for their...
Giovanni's Ristorante Italiano

If you're going to come here I recommend dressing up a bit. I did not and I personally felt a little left out. It's a nice Italian restaurant in the Little Italy. The staff was very attentive and the food was pretty good too. This is probably some of the best service that I...
Otto @ The W Hotel

Great food, love the ambiance and very cool hotel in general. We were here around valentine's day and had a great experience and would go back forsure. Pricy, but worth it. Love the music, the lighting, decor, etc.
Pasta La Vista

Nice ambiance but the few times I've been here the food has been pretty so-so. I last ordered a spinach salad that tasted like nothing at all and I was disappointed in it. However everyone else's stuff looked decent. It wouldn't be my first choice but if you're shopping in the...

Fine dining italian-style in downtown Winnipeg. I haven't been in a while, so I hope they've since updated the decor. The food is fantastic, a great place for a date or other special occasion.
Mirto Restaurant

I went there this week with some co-workers. The pasta was great! The drinks were expensive. Then we went there for our Christmas party. The food was excellent. Their pizza is the best I've ever had. Apparently, their Caesar salad is supposed to be the best in Toronto -...
Capone's

My friend has been here a few times and loves it, so she got me to come along once. To be honest, I'm not really a big fan. The atmosphere is so dark you can hardly see anything and there is a lot of crap on the walls. The prices are average I guess, but they don't make me...

My fiance and I recently visited Toronto while I was there for work (if you've read any of my reviews, I'm from Orlando). On the last night, we decided to go have dinner in Little Italy. Being the brilliant tour guide that I am, I looked at the map and figured that it couldn't...
